Schematics for the SF-7000 and SC-3000 Service Manual
Post Posted: Thu Mar 22, 2007 12:59 pm
I have just received a package containing...

* SC3000 10-page flyer. Some interesting reading

* SC3000 complete schematics (1x A3)

* SF7000 incomplete schematics (2xA2, 1xA3). I am missing the left hand side of the first page, which is the CPU part, apparently. Does anybody have this missing page?

Good that you won that auction. I was on it at some point.
Try to have some scanned if you have the time :-)

(I don't have the "missing page".)

Argh, I had just been desoldering stuff off my SC-3000H board to trace out some of the connections. ;)

Are these official Sega schematics, or 3rd-party schematics that somebody reverse-engineered for the purposes of repair?

They look like original Sega (need to have a closer look at the documentation in the corner)...well, old photocopies of the original for the SF7000 and the SC3000 looks very professional and is not a copy.

Happy new year :)

Marc posted some stuff last year:
https://sites.google.com/site/mavati56/sega_sf7000/sc-3000-sf-7000_docsandschema...

SC-3000_Doc_Develop_Graphisme_Fr.pdf (7494k)
Marc Le Douarain, 6 déc. 2014 à 05:20
v.1

SF-7000_schematic.pdf (1517k)
Marc Le Douarain, 6 déc. 2014 à 05:23
v.1

Sega_SC-3000_ServiceManual.pdf (17114k)
Marc Le Douarain, 6 déc. 2014 à 05:23
v.1

Those should be added to http://www.smspower.org/Development/ServiceManuals-Index and http://www.smspower.org/Development/SF-7000 ? (not sure where the schematic would fit), if somebody feels like adding them :)

There's also a list of cartridge and tapes available in France that he gathered:

These are great!

Looking at the different variants in the service manual;

RGB model: France

NTSC model: Japan (JIS apparently stood for "Japanese Industrial Standard)

PAL models;

G-PAL: Used in most of mainland Europe, specifically Italy and Finland as far as SC-3000 is concerned.

B-PAL (Australia)
B-PAL (New Zealand)

Those two are self explanatory, but it's the following models which are interesting;

I-PAL: Used in UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, and South Africa. UK, and Ireland can be ruled out. Wikipedia's SG-1000 page (which SC-3000 shares) used to say that it got released in South Africa, but with no source. Additionally, here's a generic PAL variant (no Yeno sticker) of Star Jacker from a Hong Kong based seller, which previously made me wonder if SC-3000 or SG-1000 might have been released there.

B-PAL (Southeast Asia): Used in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia. I guess that Singapore would be the most likely place for this model to have been released. It's the first that I've ever heard of SC-3000 getting released in this region.

Maybe there's an ultra-rare PAL Mahjong variant from Hong Kong/Singapore waiting to be discovered :p

Wow, really cool to have the detailed information about both custom parts in the SC-3000. I'm surprised they explained how it worked this completely.

Very cool! I had been thinking to my self lately that I would really like to pull a part an SG-1000 and make a schematic. Now I don't have to! :)

New SF-7000 Schematics obtained in 2022

Below are the SF-7000 documents I recently obtained.

Previous one had "1 of 3" (A3) only.

We now have "1 of 3" (A3), "2 of 3" (A3), and 電源部回路図 ~Power supply circuit diagram (A4). It's unclear if the power supply diagram is meant to be 3 of 3 or if we are missing that.

I obtained 2 copies of each, one is bolder but not necessary more readable. I scanned both just in case, labelled "Version A" and "Version B".

Could someone assemble them into a nice PDF (by combining both sides of each, etc.) ?

Alternate SC-3000 Schematics document
Post Posted: Sun Sep 25, 2022 4:20 pm
I've also obtained a slight variant of the SC-3000 schematics. It seems more or less the same but with a Sega document templates, and some handwriting changes. I've scanned two version. Attached.

Could someone combine both sides into one?
