Has anyone ever used COMSAVE and COMLOAD?

Has anyone ever used COMSAVE and COMLOAD on the SF-7000?
I am implementing the serial port emulation and I am trying to use COMSAVE and COMLOAD.
It seems COMSAVE simply spits out the program listing, terminated by 0x0D,0x0A,0x0D,0x0A.
When fed which such input, however, COMLOAD prints
Receive end - converting
? Illegal line number error
By the way, the program was a simple
10 PRINT "HELLO
which is clearly syntactically correct.
