Price of the Mark III at launch compared with Famicom?

Been chatting with a friend a bit about the Famicom's history, and realizing just what a position the Mark III was in when it launched late 1985 compared with its competitor.
But this did lead us to ask a question - how much did the Famicom cost at the time, verses the Mark III at launch. The Mark III seems to hold a tremendous advantage against the Famicom at that particular time period, but at what literal cost? We hope someone on the forum knows enough of this weird sort of trivia to help! |

Wikipedia suggests in Japan the Mk III was JP¥16,800 at release in 1985 and the famicom was JP¥14,800 at release in 1983.

which means slightly more expensive, even taking inflation into consideration

Yeah, we were unsure if the price of the Famicom had fallen in response to the Mark III and general market pressures, in late 1985.
