This is correct.
Originally I made this track for the MARKanoIIId homebrew in 2016 as a 60Hz PSG track. But as everything I personally make for my bandcamp site is in 50Hz I remade it to that speed as closely as I could, that explains the later release date than the FM version.
This new version closely follows the FM version though.

Edit: Just listened to the MARKanoIIId original, I totally forgot that I added that slower part in the middle to the later versions. The first version doesn't have that.
It's something I couldn't resist, I love when there's a change in tempo like that.

Thank you for the comments!

I made an oscilloscope view video of the track, all channels recorded from hardware.
No preset noise sounds, everything custom made.

Woaw, it's an incredible track, congrats! It deliver so much energy, it needs to be used in an action game! :)

I didn't knew that the SMS could deliver such sound. I only see 3 channels in your video - does it mean that it only uses 3 channels?
(leaving one free for SFX I guess!)

It does use all the channels. The third square is silent but provides the frequency information for the noise channel. If music done like this would go in a game I would use a lot of square only SFX and play them on the second channel, which is the least noticeable as it mostly has echoes and supporting melodies.

Actually it's crazy if I mute the second channel the track is still pretty enjoyable and that's with only 2 channels of sound! The Master System noise channel is so awesome, it carries like more than half the track by itself. Bassline and drums are noise only, except the snare drum which has a little helping from the second square but would sound just fine without it.

Great track. I remember the music MARKanoIIId really standing out so its nice to see this.

There is a quality to the voice of the main melody I really like, a wavery echo like sound to it? Like the pitch is ever so slightly modulating. Gives it a bold full body sound which you don't tend to hear on SMS. Reminds me of the music in Golvellius which is some of my favorite for the system.

Thank you psidum. Nice catch, this is how most of my music is. I avoid making static sounds and aim for dynamic, lively and modulating sounds.

Thanks a lot for the information, I wasn't aware of this!
Now I understand why playing a SFX on channel 2 tends to stop/destroy the noise track in my game :).
