SMS expansion port stuff

Post stuff related to the SMS expansion port.
AFAIK, it's just a gender-inverted version of the cart port.

Its esentially the same as the western cart slot but its male instead of female. The pinout is also crossed over, or mirrored between the top and bottom sides. You can make an adapter with two females sockets and cross the sides over and games will work from it. This can be useful as you can use this adapter on a JP console to play western games. You can also use it as a third port for dumping games.

Im not sure if any official hardware was released that made use of the expansion port on the master system. Its useful for adding an FM module though.

No, nothing official was ever released for it. Presumably the floppy disk attachment used it.

I think there's actually a five cartidge demo slot that used the port that got a "release" in europe.
