Flight of Pigarus - limited physical edition
Post Posted: Sun Apr 14, 2019 6:56 am
I made a small batch (25 pieces) of physical editions of my most recent Homebrew Flight of Pigarus.

- new custom PCB (by Ichigo) in a refurbished cartridge shell
- new clamshell box
- professionally printed inlay, booklet, and cartridge sticker

The price is 30 EUR plus shipping.

Shipping costs depend on where you are and whether you want tracking or not:

- within Germany: 2,60 € (or 4,75 € with tracking)
- within EU: 9,– € (or 11,50 € with tracking)
- rest of the world: 16,– € (or 20,– with tracking)

PM me if you want one. First come, first serve. Once they're gone, they're gone for good.

This is really exciting. Because the game is wonderful! But also because this is using the custom PCB by Ichigobankai. It is the first time those are used for a homebrew product?

Revo used some of them for his Duke Nukem (but another pcb revision, where components are in DIP package (through holes))

Pigarus pcb are fully CMS / oven soldered and programmed after soldering.

I know I´m late and all copies are sold.
I want to be in the waiting list if someone finally do not buy or you decide to do more copies.

My cart has arrived. Thanks again to Kagesan and ichigobanki for putting this together. It’s great feeling to open a new Master System game. It’s been a long time after all!

I’ll be firing Pigarus up in my fresh out of the box Mega SG tonight.

Arrived.
I'm so glad you decided to edit this small bunch of physical copies Kagesan, i can't test it right away because of some leads issue, but i already love it!
(btw, inside ram memory for score/replay is a clever idea.)

I'm not sure i'll beat my old records on it, but i surely will try it hard.
The hardest part will be about taming SMS D-pad...

That is one nice looking PCB. Even though I didn't get one in time, I want to thank you for making a quality product. As someone who designs PCBs I am not easily impressed... but these boards look beautiful!

My Carts
Post Posted: Wed Jan 08, 2020 9:12 pm
Here is a better picture of the item I make where you can see all parts.
I show it in the past in this forum and olso on my twitter.
Now you can see all details, the boths sides of the instrucctions cartoon, the cart sticker and everything. Once Law81 posted here, I receive petitions of this forum members for a copy. I know how I feel when I ask for a copy directly from developers with empty hands as a result. Hope early appear autorized copies with the permission of the whole world and with better manufacturing than me.
With the idea of no empty hands, or feel sad I will give the posibility to buy my item. Please, before deal with me consider first buy directly from developers, mine is handmade and a tribute to all what appear in this item.

I agree. First priority should be given to the developers for their hard work, and creating the game itself.

However in this case it was such a limited number. A personal suggestion. Might I suggest is work out how much it costs to make each game, the mark up/ profit you are aiming at for your work to convert/ put together as a complete physical game. Lastly perhaps some sort of tribute/ royalty if you like to the developers itself. I am sure if people know the break down of costs. People would (myself included) would not mind paying a little extra to make sure the developers receive some sort of tribute. Just my thoughts only.

It was simply the number I could hope to process in a reasonable time frame. Sourcing donor cart shells, boxes, and printed materials was a time-consuming task, as was assembling the packages, spray painting the shells, and finally sending out the finished products.

I did this limited run for fun, and I didn't turn a profit on it, and that's not even counting the hours I poured into production (let alone creating the game in the first place).

That said, as long as they don't do it commercially, I don't mind if people make their own physical copies. That's what I created the box art, manual and sticker for after all.

I'm currently in talks with a publisher who has shown interest in the game. So there may be another (bigger) run of 'official' physical editions on the horizon, but I don't want to promise anything just now.

If that does go ahead. I am more then happy to purchase copy from yourself. Please feel free to ever contact me.

I totally understand most people making games simply do it put of love, and fun. Very rarely making either a huge, or any profit at all.

If that deal does fall through. If someone like say M. Osorio could produce copies. Would u have any concerns if say an agreement could be reached, where u receive some sort of portion.

The last part is always tricky, as it relies on trust, and honesty. I am sure ways could be worked out. However it honestly comes down to whether u want to see someone else making copies. Perhaps the latter could be a backup.

Anyways best of luck to u. Just adding in my 20 cents worth. :-).
