We don't have a good thread to post info/photo of Game Gear TecToy stuff. I have assembled my collection today and took a shot:

Here is a current picture of my Brazil collection. Also Bock yes that is my master list but you have some alphabetically wrong and some spelling errors too. Out of the 68 games, I personally either own them or have seen photographic proof of them to get on my list. Took many years of research and help from my man Nilo as well for that list to get made so hope it helps people. One thing if buying on ML WATCH OUT FOR FAKES. Been burned multiple times on fake boxes and fake manuals. I'm down to needing 5 boxes, 7 manuals, and 3 carts to have the set. Anyone closer? Would love to see more pics! ~E~ |

Yes I ought to state I got this list from Nilo who essentially got it from you or assembled it with you. Merged with existing GG-BR list on the site. Which are alphabetically wrong in the list above or have spelling errors? Oh I realize the WEB search here http://www.smspower.org/Games-Releases/GG-BR is not being sorted properly because we sort by underlying "Game" name which are internationally shared. But the list I posted in the post above should be sorted? |

You have one more game than the sega brasil community's wiki !
https://www.sega-brasil.com.br/Tectoy/Categoria:Jogos_para_Game_Gear Should be worth sending them a mail with the picture proof for the 68th :) |

I see that my discovery of Dr. Robotnik tectoy ran the world. It was I who found a copy of this sale that until then no one knew of its existence.

Thanks for posting this, wonderful!
Could you help completing this list? http://www.smspower.org/Games-Releases/GG-BR Missing 5 cartridge label types/color Missing 15 product numbers. |

I do not understand about the label ... The labels are always the color referring to the cover, there is no mistake ... All boxes with the wine color, have the label in the color wine on the side. |

Tec toy never fail to make the most ghastly box designs. Yikes. Anyway, very cool to see. How do those game sit in the boxes?

It's amazing that this "new" title was discovered after so much time. I'm wondering why. As for Dr. Robotnik, I understand it was "discovered" in 2018? Must be very rare. I own a copy myself but the manual is missing. |

Hello, topic digging, I was wondering about the game collection that we see sometimes, do you know how many there were? Is it Brazilian and related to Tectoy? Have a good day!

That looks like exactly like this "Asian" copy of Genesis 6-Pak I have (down to being sold in a Game Gear-style box, without a manual, if the copy was indeed "new" as the Japanese seller I had purchased it from said it was).
I had since opened it, breaking thought the hologram "Genuine" sticker on the back of the cart, and confirmed the cart inside was an authentic USA cart (presumably excess stock that Sega shipped over to mainland Asia to resell on the cheap). |

Hi Ben,
Why are you suggesting this could be TecToy? Everything about the design screams USA. I’ve been those from time to time, it seems like ageneric packaging (manufactured by who? Maybe a big retail shop?) to resell loose games. |

I don't think retailers would make generic packaging to sell loose games.
I remember when FuncoLand/GameStop was selling loose games, they'd just put the Game Gear and Game Boy carts inside a glass display case, and you ask the person for the game you want. (I also remember, they used to just print a huge price list of all the games. You'd have to look at the price list, and then ask the employee which of the games you want, are available.) With optical disc games, they'd probably have generic packaging since that's a more fragile media, but I think with carts, they'd just sell the loose cart alone. |

AFAIK Tectoy never released a game without their logo and with the SEGA seal.

My understand that a big part of the reason that Sega partnered with TecToy was because of Brazil's anti-import laws. It was far cheaper to license a Brazilian company to manufacture and distribute their stuff in Brazil than for Sega to export their goods to Brazil themselves.
(like I remember hearing when supposedly Sony themselves launched the PS2 in Brazil in 2008 at a reported price of around $400US... when they were still selling consoles in the US at $99. I guessed taxes were the big part of that huge price disparity?) |

I stand corrected, finally found one (Saturn) game with the Sega seal: https://www.sega-brasil.com.br/Tectoy/PTO_Pacific_Theather_Of_Operations_II |

I have a Genesis 6-Pak with that same artwork. Bought over a decade ago from a Japanese seller (from Rakuten) sold as "new" who claimed it as an "Asian" release. The cartridge inside was a US cart (the screws were covered with a "Sega Genuine" sticker, which I poked through to open the cart and verify it did indeed look like an authentic cart, presumably an overstock cart exported and resold with cheap repackaging). Yes, it was indeed a Genesis game packaging in a Game Gear-like box, and without instructions, if it was in fact as "new" as the seller claimed. |
