My mirror page
Post Posted: Thu Mar 22, 2007 7:55 pm
Hello, I've been a long time visitor of this site and really appreciate what you guys have created. I recently e-mailed Omar about being a mirror, however I didn't get a reply all together. Anyhow, I went ahead and put a mirror together.

My mirror can be found at www.MJCx.com/smspower/index.htm

Hope you guys like it, and it's still a work in progress.

By the way, I just got a hold of the entire SMSPower ROM collection, atleast I believe it is. I want to make this the best mirror also. I plan on adding them as soon as I can, but it's quite a collection so it's gonna take some time.

Really? I needed only about 30 minutes to make my ROM mirror the most complete one besides the official protected one.

ROMs

I have over 800 ROMs to work with. But it's really a matter of me sitting down and doing it.

With much trial and error last night and this morning, I got everything up. Even have all the ROMs in the Javagear list.

Its a nice mirror MJC but with a slow PC (733Mhz) the java gear applet really wreaked havoc with Firefox and caused it to crash on my PC, so perhaps I would maybe put the applet on a separate page, however its a cool idea.

Also I love the colour scheme and stuff.

I visitied the site on a machine that was 800mhz with no problem. I have had problems with the emulator crashing the browser, but that's only when loading games. If I find it does create problems on older PCs with out being used I will definitely move it.

It does slow the browser down a lot, even on my kick-ass Core Duo, simply due to having to load a few megs of JVM stuff off the disk. I'd suggest making it a popup window.
