SMS Paging Chip Document
Post Posted: Sat Jun 17, 2000 9:27 pm
All -

I've posted a new document about the 315-5208, 315-5235, and 315-5265 ROM paging chips. Most of the information comes from postings by Mike G. and Charles Mac Donald on this message board a few weeks ago.

The document is available under the "Development Tools" heading in the Technical Documentation section of S8-Dev. I encourage any one interested in creating a home-made development cartridge to check it out.

Excellent stuff, Eric!

I have a few things to add regarding the 315-5365 chip in Bubble Bobble (a two megabit cartridge with no battery backed RAM).

The pinout (as far as I can be sure) is shown here; there seem to be a few differences between this and the 315-5235.

I actually have two Bubble Bobble carts; one dated 1991, the other dated 1992. Internally, they are identical. Board colour is brown in both cases.

Mike
