Space Mountain (OMV)

Blast in the past, here we have one of those scarce Tsukuda Original games: Space Mountain for Othello Multivision (スペースマウンテン), released in 1984! The Othello Multivision is SG-1000 compatible and vice-versa. Space Mountain is a 3D-ish shooter in the same vein as Zoom 909, featuring X-Wing ship. It's only 8 KB so not exactly packed with features, and certain shooting scenes are difficult to figure out. Can you complete it?

Blimey! Good find! What a shame that I have no emulator with TMS9918 modes.

Wow! Infringing upon both Disney and Lucasfilm properties at the same time...

Believe it or not, I played to Scene 32. Boring, yet interesting, game.

So what is the key to getting past the Death Star trench battle, anyway? I've gotten past it a few times, but it seems random and I'm not exactly sure what I did that worked. I'd normally think that the trick is to get the moving + sign at the center of your crosshairs and fire, but that doesn't seem to work consistently.

This game seems to be a 2 player game, yet I'm not able to start it as a 2 player game. Could it be that the second player is supposed to use the Othello Multivision mini-keyboard?
