Released the first demo of my new project
It's called "Music Station" and it's a digital compressed music replayer like winamp
The file below is just a beta version. Full version will include a wise-like conversor
so anyone can make sms roms with the musics you like most.

http://www.lsi.usp.br/~ricardo/MUSTSMS.ZIP

1. run it in BrSMS
2. run it in DOS
3. run it at the maximum volume your soundcard can make
4. press button 1 to start themusic
5. post bug reports in this forum
6. do not send emails to me
7. enjoy the blue penguins
8. always make lists whose number of itens is a power of two

neato.
On a real sms, you should be able to triple the volume by setting all three tone channels to the same amplitude. Would this also work with brsms?

this is just a general rule?

Making the volume three times louder is a waste of potential
By setting different values in each channel I could increase the signal-to-noise relation in the output.
This has two problems:

1. It would decrease the compression rate ( currently about 128kb / s )
2. I'm just too lazy to implement it

These days I'm too often correcting myself

The compression rate is actually 128 kbytes / minute of music
In sms notation this would be 1 Mbit / minute of music
I believe I need more sleep and less programming.

But I can't hear anything from BRSMS on my computer at all!

Yeah, I remember a couple years ago Neon Spiral Injector (of SMSC) and I were swapping ideas back and forth about using extra sound channels for PCM clarity. Using both channels would give 31 steps of precision, and the third channel would boost that to 46 I think (number of channels x 15 + 1, though I don't recall offhand how I proved that, or if I did). I was calling that "5 and a half bit sound", not that that would a particularly accurate way of describing it.
Of course, I was all talk and no game back then.

In the meantime, though, boosting the volume might be a better use of the channels than not using htem at all, for all the 6 or 7 opcodes it would cost.

1. use another emulator with SG-1000 emulation && frame registers && speech emulation
2. buy another sound card
3. go visit a friend who has those things
4. forget about the music and enjoy the dancing penguin

Hey, I'm trying it at work, and I'm not getting any sound either!
What's wrong with BRSMS?

(oh yeah, I don't have a sound card on my work computer. in case that has something to do with it)
