If you have emulator savestates to help accessing the credits faster (near ending, etc. if applicable) please post them as they are useful.

Should we do something special to include people uncredited in-game?

Eg: Yuzo Koshiro is famously not credited for composing the original Ys music
http://wip2.smspower.org/Credits/Ys-SMS

I suggest adding a separate section with a short explanation ("uncredited in-game") and keep it the same format. Shouldn't be too much trouble to add for the few cases we have.

Hope it's not too late yet to provide credits pictures, 'cause I've taken some of my spare time to do some of these when I was off this board.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World: No credits
Lord of the Sword: No credits
Rastan: Ending + credits
Ys: Ending + credits

I'll have all four of them attached in a .rar file. Rastan and Ys are both present in "Ending + Credits" and "Credits only" formats. All graphics are in .png format.

Admin: attached as recompressed PNGs.

I posted all of these to the site - I added the endings as "maps" and the credits as credits.

I've been working on this for guardiana lately.
I'm using tool-assisted speedruns and lonplay videos.

I tried to make a single screenshot like Maxim did.
Once again the attachments aren't in the right order (and I can't seem to be able to sort them): the "The End" screen is obviously supposed to be the last one.
And no, the sunset doesn't take place during the credits, so the composed screenshot is actually consistent. The sunset palette changes suddenly at the end of the credits.
I might put a video on Youtube eventually.

Unfortunately I beat you to it, last March:

http://www.smspower.org/Credits/PuttAndPutter-GG

It's better to check the site rather than this thread to see if the credits have been captured. The other two shots are perfectly good screenshots, though.

I edited them into single images and added them to the site:

http://www.smspower.org/Credits/ChuckRock-GG
http://www.smspower.org/Credits/SonicChaos-GG

You're welcome to do the same. The system is that you type the names as shown (except for problematic characters) and then use redirects to get things to real names where possible.

I swear, I am not going to do this again, especially not on a laptop :|
(see attachment and feel free to tell me I am crazy)

I am also an idiot, because I was more than halfway through when I suddenly thought "what if the credits are stored as plain ascii inside the rom?", and it turned out they are:

Ah yes, it was a pain when I made the SMS version:

http://www.smspower.org/Credits/SonicSpinball-SMS

where I just did ugly wrapping rather than the mega-wide image. Also, the SMS credits are almost identical.

http://www.smspower.org/Credits/SonicSpinball-GG

We always want the images as verification (although of course they can be faked... we assume nobody is bored enough to bother). But if you want a short-cut to getting the text, there's a good change it's ASCII and if not, ROMSearcher can still help. You generally still need to reformat (punctuation, capitals) for the site though.

Once again I didn't check if the SMS version was already done... Oh well, it was still a good exercise for me to do this :P

It's also interesting to note that the SMS version contains some GG-specific credits.

In fact, the SMS version has exactly the same credits except for the addition of John Brandstetter as the "Producer MS", and the "GG" added to the existing producer credit. It seems highly likely that the GG version was written in its entirety and than lazily ported to SMS; the GG-size title screen and ending show how lazy it was.

Do these count as credits?

Well, they're the best we've got, so go ahead and add them. The in-ROM credit can be added too, in an "Uncredited in-game" section.

Done. Though I tried to search on Google for "Craig B. Seastrom", and I found this page, which says he worked on the GB version, now I wonder if that string might be a leftover of some kind... But at least it shows some involvment from his part, so that credit isn't completely wrong.

We know (see this page) some of the people behind the song "Teddy Boy Blues":
    Yōko Ishino
    Unomiyabi Isamu
    Hiroaki Serizawa
Should they be mentioned on Credits/TeddyBoy-SMS?

Post Posted: Wed Mar 14, 2012 10:05 pm
Credits/ChaseHQ-SMS says:

Quote
TODO - these credits are identical to SpecialCriminalInvestigation-SMS, is that right?

It seems to me that Chase H.Q. does not contain any credits at all - the ending is simply the screen shown at the bottom right here.

A MEKA savestate of the ending (ROM CRC32: 85cfc9c9) is attached.

Edit: Also, ROMSearcher can find "TOMOHIRO" in the Special Criminal Investigation ROM, but not in any version of Chase H.Q.

We already have it, but the image is still wanted:

http://www.smspower.org/Credits/Wanted-SMS

Basically, if there's no Credits section on a game page, we want to check if there are credits or not, if so add them, ideally with an image, else mark it as "no credits". If the game is linked from here:

http://www.smspower.org/Tags/CreditsLackingScreenshots

...then we'd like an image.

To be honest we'd rather have emulated images... I cheated through and added one for Wanted. It's the same only less fuzzy and a smaller file :)

Byte-Size Sound
Post Posted: Thu Sep 06, 2012 12:54 pm
I've just come across the website of Byte-Size Sound. It includes a "Product Credits" page containing the following:

Sega Game Gear

- Arcade Classics
- Taz in Escape from Mars
- RBI Baseball '94
- Beavis & Butthead
- PGA Golf European Edition
- Barbie Supermodel
- PGA Golf 3
- Bonkers: Wax Up!
- Payne Stewart Pro Golf
- PGA Tour 96

Edit: Barring any objections, I'll add Byte-Size Sound as Audio Developer for these games (in a similar way that Krisalis has been added to Road Rash).

Byte Size Sound is Matt Scott. Or, that's his music company.
This is my first post in my topic, so I'm sorry if I did something wrong.
Here's Pac-Mania. The credits are in the instruction manual:
Converted for the Master System at Tecmagik Inc. by:

Here's Gulkave. The brackets represent their real names.

Sorry, but I do not have images of the credits. I have some of Gulkave on the VGMPF but that's it. I just keep a text file of all the credits I find.

I added Byte-Size Sound as Audio Developer for 7 of the above 10 games, plus the SMS versions of "Taz in Escape from Mars" and "Bonkers: Wax Up!". However, these three games don't seem to exist on the GG:

- PGA Golf European Edition

I have a question:

If Zillion was developed and published by Sega, what is TopDream? The "TopDream" logo appeears at the end of the ending credits, but it's just a logo. Something like "Programmed by" or "Presented by" would have helped a lot I guess :)

I found a video, but you won't see much more than what I just described: Just a logo.

Ending starts around 1:13:00. Credits start around 1:14:30. TopDream logo appears around 1:15:00

(moved the 3 posts above to the right topic)

For what it is worth (probably not much), the french wikipedia page mention
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zillion_%28jeu_vid%C3%A9o%29
"Released in 1987 by the development team Top Dream of Production I.G., a subsidiary of Tatsunoko Production."

This page has credis for the anime and Top Dream is credited as "Project Collaborator"
http://rinshi.sakura.ne.jp/anime/Zillion.html
プロジェクト協力 :トップドリーム

The game team are Sega people anyway but either they gave their team a name for the project (for fun or for legal reason) either Top Dream refer to something more specific in the Zillion making/universe.

I've added these to the site. The Spellcaster credits were a bit different to the text we had, maybe Kujakuou has different credits?

Thanks for the credits.

According to this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuKQob_VaI8 you're right there are many other people involved in this game.
But do not expect on me to finish Kujakuou in Japanese, and make a screenshot Credits ;-)

I was surprised because the end is very different from SpellCaster

Pit-Fighter Credits
Post Posted: Sun Feb 16, 2020 5:13 pm
I recently finished Pit-Fighter and in the ending sequence, there are 3 people credited.
Andy Taylor, Matt Hicks and Guillaume Camus.
The first two are in the early game sequence, but the last one, "Guillaume Camus" is not there. He is the "Support Artist".
Could he be the "Dudley" from the start?

Yogi Bear Game Gear Conversion by Influence for Twilight

Game Design - Wayne Billingham
Robin Holman
Stuart Cook

Code - Chris J White
Graphics - Doug Holmes
Music & Sound FX - Dark Tech[backward 5]

(DarkTech[backward 5] is an alias and done some digging, it's an alias of the company Dark Technologies. According to VGMPF, the composer is Jeremy Taylor )

Original Version by Twilight
Code - Robin Holman
Graphics - Wayne Billingham

(This is a reference to the original Game Boy version that was developed by Twilight)

Thanks to

Emily

Chris
Anthony
Ellen
Kayleigh
Val
Eva

Doug
Carole
Paul
Anne
Andrew
Mazza

(Due to the formatting, I assume that Chris and Doug in this section are referring to their own shoutouts rather than crediting themselves).

Also it's hard to do a clean one picture of the credits due to the background so hope it's good enough as evidence. The zip also has the raw pictures, background and font so someone can do some tinkering to make it more presentable.
