It took ages, but it's now almost done : we made the transition to a PHPBB forum!

I wrote several scripts and used existing ones to be able to retrieve all our past messages archives, which will be injected shortly (the Main and Development forums) are yet to be done. In total we will have about 30000 messages injected and searchable.

I also made it that old addresses automatically redirect to new ones, so you can try something such as:
http://www.smspower.org/music/forum/messages/4.html
And you get the first message posted in the Music forum.

It took us a long time to customize PHPBB, change the design to look as we wanted (well, mostly), install modules, add new features, remove some unwanted features, write a FAQ, etc etc etc. Hopefully it will be ok for most of you. Feel free to voice your feedback. Constructive criticism/suggestions are always welcome.

The transition should be complete now.
We have our full archive of 28933 messages (some spams removed, still some left).

Statistics:
- 140000 files messing my hard drive.
- 200 megabytes worth of SQL files injected.
- 4 Perl scripts.
- Countless hours crawling with the lot.

I really love these new forums! The icons, the archive... pretty close to be perfect, it is : )

Bery nice, bery pretty, bery oldskool...
But the earlier forum was simplier, the replies appeared... Oh well, we must go forward !
