What's your favorite music in an SMS/GG game, and why?

I would say my favorite SMS/GG musics are in Sonic 2, Sonic Chaos, Asterix and the Great Rescue, Streets of Rage 2, and Sonic Blast. I can't think of any other favorite music at the moment. Post your favorite music and give the game name on what it's in.

Definitely R-Type (especially the Special Stage) and Space Harrier (Haya-ho). Fantasy Zone's "Shop", "Boss", and "Hot Snow" and pretty much anything from Fantasy Zone 2 are also great.

I really ought to release the SFX-free ending music and the full-length title screen music... they're cool too.

Most of my favorite SMS games have my favorite music. I wonder if I like the games because I like the music, or like the music because I like the games, or if the two just naturally coincide.
Kenseiden - while simple, it sets the mood perfectly.
Golvellius - Some of the best PSG music I've heard.
Puyo Puyo 2 (GG) - It's got spunk. I like spunk.
Aleste/Power Strike
Aztec Adventure - I stand alone on this one, I'm sure.
Out Run
Space Harrier - I think this might be a case of liking the music because I liked the game. Fond memories and all that.
Phantasy Star - ah.
Quartet - See Harrier, Space.
R-Type
I suppose my favorite SMS music is that which is not only well written, but manages not to seem constrained by the SMS's sound chip. Particularly the music by Compile, which sound perfectly natural on the PSG, even though they're scaled down tunes for the FM chip (or maybe the PSG versions came first and were expanded into FM versions?)
SMS Shinobi, for instance, sounds very flat and dull. And they only really used two songs and a couple fanfares from the original. That sucked.

Nope :P I prefer the FM for obvious reasons (the dual sound engine Sega used for several games at that time has ridiculously high-pitched PSG, which meets aliasing issues so the music can't stay very well in tune), but Phantoms' Shadows is excellent.
For me, the measure of a good tune is one which prompts me to either crank up the volume, or to set it to repeat, or both. There are maybe 5 in total which do that.

I like very much Alex Kidd and the Lost Stars, Sonic Triple Trouble (I like it so much that I make a VGM pakage) and some tracks from other games (for example, special stage in sonic 1).
But I still think that musics from Super Mario Bros 1, 2 & 3 on the NES are very interesting. Also Ni****do has its great musicians!
