Space Harrier different MPR
Post Posted: Mon Jan 06, 2025 9:26 am
Hi. I opened my Space Harrier game. There the labeling of the chip is different than the known number of the Space Harriers chip. The plantine also seems to look a little different than what we usually see. What reasons could this have?

For the benefit of searching…

Space Harrier JP/US split to two 1Mbit ROMs is MPR-10410 and MPR-10411. The same data as a 2Mbit ROM is MPR-10412. The European release is MPR-11071 and also MPR-11076 - possibly assigning MPR numbers for the same data with a different manufacturer. The gap corresponds to the time between the versions being produced, with code changes. Your ROM is MPR-10413, sequential with the first three above so likely another manufacturer variant with the same data.

Still, it would be good to confirm this. If you have access to a real system and a way to run homebrew it’s possible to test this with a cart swap.
