What is the logic/need for RESET for Mapper SMS?
I've been testing some cards with different mappers. But with exactly the same ROM. On the board with Viletim's mapper (which uses RESET), if I leave this pin floating, the game stops working. On the board that uses a different mapper (which I show in this other topic: https://www.smspower.org/forums/20324-PiratedMasterSystemCartridgesPre1993 ), RESET can be disconnected from the circuit and the game remains running. Is there any easy way to get around this problem on cards based on the Viletim mapper? Because I've heard of consoles that don't have this pin connected to the SLOT, and such a proposal would increase the compatibility of homebrew cartridges. Thanks. |
