This game has no in-game music at all, just a title theme. Quite shocking for 1993. |

No, not really, Chuck Rock on the master System is another 1993 SMS game that has no in-game music. At first I thought it was a thing with only Core Design games but then I discovered that other non-Core Design titles have no in-game music as well like Mercs and Prince Of Persia.
My best bet as to why Wolfchild and Chuck Rock have no in-game music was probably because the sound converter ''Matt Furniss'' was very busy with making video game music, I mean his roster of VGMS in 1993/1994 was huge! Every week Krisalis was submitting work to many Master System/Mega Drive and Game Gear titles so i'm assuming Matt couldn't commit to some projects all the way through for time constraints which may explain why some of these games only have a title screen track and nothing else. |

I don’t think it was a time issue, it was probably cheapness or incompetence. In Wolfchild, the Krisalis engine is not being used for SFX so mixing music and SFX would be very hard. I’m sure Krisalis would have taken more money to do more work, and they could have used the one time in the game if it really came to it. In interviews at the time, Matt Furniss described taking about a week per game - I guess this one track was a day or less of work. | |
