I did a version as well back in January, but I love the punchy drums you have here ^_^

Well, I'm using 9ch mode instead the rythm mode. I'm genuinely surprised by your statement, since I thought they sounded kinda weak compared to the OPLL perc. I also took the oportunity to double the bass with the square synth patch (#0D) for extra spice ;)
*Edit*
Just took a quick look at your channel, and found a cover of "Seal of Time" of Ys 3(My fav from the game). Instant sub right there.

Inspiring stuff! i'm very temped to make a Golden Axe cover myself now.

The drums sound great! Did you use the user/custom instrument for that?

I guess the lead should be an octave higher, but the song works just as good if not better this way.

I'm indeed using a custom patch for the drums, with "keyscaling" aplied to both the carrier and the modulator. The idea is to play the shorter/quiter sounds an octave higher than the longer/lounder ones,(since "keyscaling" speeds up the envelope relative to the frequency sort of speak).
As for the melody, I originally had it an octave higher, but found to distracting an teeny compared to rest of the peace(that horn instrument gives me a very hard time in general xD). So I lowered to be more inline with what was already "good enough".
