Game Gear "reboots"

Hi fellow Sega fans,
I've got a recapped, recased, CleanScreen Game Gear I bought off eBay a little over 2 years ago. I worked perfectly until last week.
With brand new alkaline batteries it will play about an hour before "rebooting" and going to the BIOS "licensed by Sega" screen. That keeps happening more and more often the more the same batteries are used.
The same thing happens with rechargeable batteries, only they don't even last an hour before the rebooting problem starts.
Anyone have an idea what the cause might be and what to look for (caps, chips, traces, solder joints, etc.) to repair it?

I've seen similar symptoms occur when a capacitor isn't soldered properly to the mainboard. I would start by checking the electrolytic capacitors for cold solder joints and touching those up if you find anything that looks suspect.

Thanks. I thought it was likely cap related.
