VGM2mid not working

I'm trying to convert the .vgm files I've downloaded from Zophar's domain,
but the majority of the MIDI files are coming out improperly. Very few of them are perfect, and other ones have notes drawn out along all channels at the same time for long periods of time. Could anyone perhaps help me find the solution to my issue?
I just made this account, so I can't send links. If you want to look at the original VGM files, just go to the page for Puyo Puyo (Mega Drive) on the music page of Zophar's Domain. I can't share a link to download the MIDI so you can hear what I'm talking about, either.

Vgm2mid is very old so unlikely to be supported these days. So is Zophar’s Domain! Project2612 is a better source for Mega Drive VGMs, and if you really want MIDI you’re better off using arranged MIDIs as VGM conversions will always be a bit broken.
