Sega Game Gear repair (left D-PAD not working).
![]() |
I bought a SGG described as working, but the right D-PAD does not work. I was sure that the right side of the D-PAD was dirty, but after disassembly you can see that the defect is the result of incorrect (unskilful) replacement of capacitors.
I'll have to do some work to fix it. My question is what value is in place of the missing capacitor C27? And a request if someone with a similar PCB version could send me a photo of these places so that I could compare? |

You'll find the service manual(s) here useful:
https://www.smspower.org/Development/ServiceManuals-Index so the VA0 manual is there, and the VA1 you can find if you follow the thread through the forum (TODO someone, possibly me, upload the VA1 manual to the wiki). So for VA0, C27 is 2200pF, 50V For VA1, C27 is 39pF, 50V HTH! |
