NTSC Master System doesn't support Everdrive
Post Posted: Thu Jul 14, 2022 6:43 pm
I have a Master Everdrive that works well on my French SMS2, and my Japanese SMS with a cartridge converter, but it doesn't seem to work on my Master System 1, the 837-6629 motherboard with the "Hang-On" alone BIOS. Specifically, it goes right to Hang-On and acts like the Everdrive wasn't inserted at all.

I'm curious if it's possible that this is due to some kind of damage on the motherboard that doesn't impact regular cartridges but would impact the Everdrive, but looking at it I don't see anything amiss (beyond C124 having broken solder joints, but that doesn't seem to do anything other than clean the 5V line). Does anyone have any idea what might be worth checking out?[/i]

I would fix and replace that broken solder joint and then test other cartridges. Everdrive should work on NTSC.

so it's not connected or not powered up properly, I'd say...
