Help with editing changing a tile's usage in-game

Hi, I'm new here! I've been lurking this lovely website for a long time and am in need of assistance.

There is this single tile in Wonder Boy that is making me lose my cool. I've looked into editing its graphic, but that's no good because it's obviously used elsewhere.

What I know for sure is, this was a mistake made when arranging the meta tiles for the game, given how it's present in EVERY ISLAND and it's a single tile that could very well be replaced by one of the other 3 that actually fit.

I know a tiny little bit of z80, but nowhere near enough to figure out where said meta tiles lie in rom or how they're arranged. If anyone knows how to fix this graphical error, let me know. Thanks.[/img]

It looks like it may be the same meta tile as for the part on the right, so it may not be easy to fix. Try opening in Emulicious and then check if it can trace the source ROM address in its tilemap viewer.
