Thanks for the feedback everybody.

I played with the idea of the pillar. The fence uses 6 tiles.
I can make a very simple version of the pillar with 2 tiles for the base, 2 for the middle and 2 for the top. And if i remove the top it would only use 4 tiles. So that way it will definitely fit.
If i have more tiles to spare then i can make a wider top and/or base.

A diagonal pillar would probably require more tiles.

I don't have mint green in my palette so the color will be the same green as the grass. There will be a lot of green in the level then, the grass, the pillars, and the bush/trees. I can try a brown, purple or blue pillar instead, which would stand out more. Or even a combination of blue and green.

Wow! great job. I finished the game again. One more step better.

IMO i would keep the water like is now.
About your beta 2:
- I dont see problems with the clouds in marble zone but in act 2 it are messy;
- There is a bug with green hill zone act 2. When you exit from underground and start the way to up. There a piece of background that sonic is passing through.

Unidus is great now;
Star light music! You did it.
I noted that you change a bit the final stage zone and it is a bit better.

Can i ask something more?
The chaos esmeralds can change the colors or is hard ?

Blue and White would get my vote, unless it clashes too much with the sky, then brown.

If you made the Pillar symmetrical you could half the tiles by flipping, might free up enough to have broken top variations too.

I only did the clouds in act1, so yeah act2 is a mess.

Hmm, i thought i fixed the cillision in gh act2. I'll look into it again.

I'm not sure how to change emerald colors for each zone. The emerald is only stored once and that one is used for all zones. MAYBE it is possible if i get real creative with the sprite palette. But it will also break the color in the good end, not sure how to fix that either yet.

Yes, i think the blue pillar will clash with the sky.
The game does not support tile flipping.

I verified again (Long time in see sonic) and in fact is bluegreen. So how you can do equivalent to Genesis is great.

The original green looks like toxic to me, while it is harmless water.

Where exactly did you pass the wall? I was able to get into the wall in the original game as well :)

There's some hard edges here on the clouds in act one of Marble Zone.

And I'm not sure the tree tiles in the second screen shot are placed in the right order.

The clouds are not finished because i am not sure if i'm gonna keep them.

The trees are not finished yet either. It's a bit boring to do. But i'll fix it eventually.

Are you sure it happened in beta2? In the first beta there was an collision issue which i fixed in beta2.

You can easily add a screenshot as attachment. Just click the "Browse..." button, select the screenshot, then click the "Add Attackment" button.

I don't know what was improved exactly, so it's hard to say. You can try and see what happens :).

FM mod is not compatible for sure. The driver was changed by Valleybell (i used the original driver) and he had to rewrite both the PSM and FM tunes in his own format, if i'm not mistaken.

IMO the green not fit very well. The stage have much of green on it. The Grass, Trees in background and the pillars. I think that could change the color to purple or other color but is only a suggestion.

I know. It actually has some blue mixed with green in it, and it supposed to look like the color in Genesis. Unfortunately I do not have any spare slots in my palette to add mintgreen.

To me this is the best compromise. Actual green would be worse like you said. Yellow or brown looks out of place. Blue is already used by the sky. And purple is already used by the mountains and bricks.

Anyhow, it is better than the original fence it replaces :).

Do you intend to change the music from when you get a life?

Sky Base Zone would look pretty cool as Star Light Zone.

Unlike the 1-up, when you get a chaos emerald it plays music, so i was able to change that. When you die, it also plays music, i might change that to the 2 note genesis sound. I haven't touched the invisible and end level music yet.

Yes, Sky base/Star light is on mind, and will give it a shot some time.

That's good.

I showed the game to a friend today along with Xfixium's Golden Axe and he was amazed.
I didn't believe I could do that with the Master System.
Seeing you working full steam ahead on your projects got me back to working on mine. =)

Yeah, that is the fun part of it. The SMS has huge potential which most games did not use, so there is a lot of room for improvements.

Mônica Contra o Capitão Feio
(Mônica no Castelo do Dragão - HACK)
The main one is "Monica in the Dragon Castle" where I'm fixing things that Tec Toy didn't do at the time. Accents, other characters from Monica's gang and putting Captain Ugly as the last Boss and more. Im use opengameart.org


Faixa Preta
(Black Belt translation Brazilian Portuguese)
I did a small translation of the Black Belt into Brazilian Portuguese. I modified some things like palettes, added blood and changed the title screen.


Black Belt 2
(Hokuto no Ken Hack)
After translating the Black Belt I saw that Hokuto no Ken was very different and I had the idea of ​​transforming it into a Black Belt 2. It's still in the beginning.. I'm not very talented in pixel art and this ends up making me very difficult. I got a lot of stuff from opengameart.org or other games.


Princesa Beatriz
(Alex Kidd Hack)
I wanted to make this game for my daughter. But I had some problems that let me down. Calindro encouraged me to return to this project. I hope to be finished one day.


Master Gradius
(Aerial Assault Hack)
Exploring the Aerial Assault rom I saw that I could do many things without worrying about compressed tiles. I did some tests and it was pretty cool. The problem is the weapons. They come from the bottom of the ship and not the front. I don't know how to solve this.


Guazu and Friends
(Psycho Fox Hack)
I did this Psycho Fox hack to honor a friend who had managed to release his first game on Steam. Guazu. I have edited images of all characters but I haven't put them in the rom yet.


Master Adventure Island
(Wonder Boy Hack)
And finally...
This was the hack I participated in this year's SMSPOWER competition. Unfortunately I had to make some adaptations because I couldn't find the title screen sprites to edit them.


Its all... hahahaha sorry for my bad english. =)

Replace the original title screen with this one I couldn't. But haroldoop helped me out by adding two intro screens to the game that run before the title screen. So I put the image you saw in the photo. But the original screen unfortunately I couldn't edit.

When I get home I'll make an ips of Adventure Island and Gradius and post it here.

This improvement of Sonic 1 adds the time HUD to the boss fights so you can record your times. New title screen where it adds Ancient to the copyright. Some other areas are fixed where it is missing the time HUD.

1.31 fixes many bugs, plus adds an electric sphere to Scrap Brain 3 and more cannon fire to Sky Base 2.

Some more small changes.

- In Marble zone too much stuff was in purple, so i changed the weight ball thingy back to brown.
- I accidentally broke the fire in Scrapbrain, which is fixed again.
- The grey spikes in Greenhill do not fit due to compression. The clouds, flower and mountain will look worse, so i'll probably abandon the idea. I like the purple flower though.
- I tried the death sound effect from the Genesis, but it sounds horrible.
The Act Clear music is finished and started working on the invincibility music.

Hmm, will i ever finish this mod...? :p

Invincibility music is done too!

The invincibility music plays as it should, however when it is over and the normal music starts again, the channels are out of sync for some reason that i don't understand.

Here you go! I'm running out of ideas (and rom space) so i hope to finally release it soon. I believe it deserves to be released as version 2.0.

Additional changes:
- boss music (lower volume of some notes at the end of the song)
- Put back the waves on water of Labyrinth. I didn't recognize the tiles and removed them earlier. Miraculously they did not take much space and everything still fits with them, phew!
- fixed 2 pixel in water of greenhill act 2
- trees in Marble should look ok-ish

I found a bug. If you take the invincibility and then the speed boot, the music makes a strange noise.
Can you put music on the Game Over screen?
Try to put that noise when Sonic dies in Genesis instead of the song that plays in death in the Master version.
Are you still going to put the Starlight Zone in the game?
It could change the jungle too hahaha I think it's the most boring part of the game. Mainly the music.
Still... congratulations! It was very good.

Thanks for checking it out. Not sure why the music is messed up. These 2 songs seems to be a bit different somehow. Maybe i'm missing a command in the songs or something.

I tried changing the death "music" but so far it sounds horrible.

Unfortunately I don't know how to add music to the game over screen, that would've been very cool.

Actually I really like the original jungle zone and the music. It will be much harder to change than the bonus levels. Maybe i'll give it a shot, but it'll be in a different version.

Starlight. I thought about changing blue to green, but that would cause the clouds to be green as well. Also it shares tiles with the zeppelin which makes it a bit harder to do. Maybe in a future version.
