269 PAL Full Set vs 2Minds
Post Posted: Fri May 21, 2021 12:54 pm
Would be interested to see what people make of the 4 new games commercially for sale from 2Minds and whether due to this the Full PAL Set total is no longer at the recognised 269 (and now instead at 273).

Discuss!

These four games are not officially released or licensed by Sega, so they do not count. That is my opinion.

Maybe there are some games without license, but they were released when you could still find the console in stores.

Anyway, in my opinión, 2Minds is good news, and what really matters is having new physical quality games for the best console ever.

I have all four games from 2Minds, altought I bought "Voyage" directly from the author, because I did not know It would be released by 2Minds.
I prefer 2Minds cover.

Signed.

But I think it´s a sweet new goal to collect all the new releases for another nice set, whatever you´d like to call it :D "Homebrew set" doesn´t sound right for professional, new releases like the games from 2Minds or even Digger Chan, which looks very professional as well.

Plenty of new homebrew physical releases are very small scale, <50 units, making it quite hard to find them for sale later. There’s also a small but significant amount of “unofficial” production of these.

There are homebrew games and there are official games. We should separate them. Let's count how
many aftermarket releases there are instead. There are (as far as I know) 15 physical games from recent years.

I was thinking about a project like this for quite some time, but I can´t do it all by myself since I´ve probably missed some releases. But we could collect those informations altogether in an SMS Power thread or maybe sega8bit would create a new data base for this.

Could be interesting to list only "officially" published things.
Published by their authors (or by me, with a "licence")
and not by a random person...

Alex Kidd 2
Alex Kidd 3 Curse In Miracle World
Bara Buru
Bread and Butter
Digger Chan
Donkey
Duke Nukem
Flight of Pigarus
Heroes Against Demons
Porkopolis
Prisonnier 2
Sydney Hunter
Voyage - A Sorceress' Vacation

I think this is a correct list. Did Bread and Butter World and The Coconut Cake Caper starring Bread and Butter got physical releases as well?

This should be the correct list =) Maybe sega8bit is going to make a database for this.
