What version of the original Master System is the best to buy?

I am planning on buying an original model Master System. So I can play the Sega Card games. I have seen many different models for sale. Some with built in games some without and a Master System "PLUS". What would be the best version to buy?

Best is the Japanese Master System. Beyond that, the packaging variations make little difference.

Is that because of the sound and the backward compatibility?

Pros:

* Built-in FM sound
* Ability to use FM and PSG at the same time
* Built-in rapid fire
* Built-in 3D glasses adaptor
* Card slot
* Fits Japanese/Korean and SG-1000 games
* No region lockout
* RGB out
* 60Hz

Cons:

* Doesn't fit export games without an adaptor
* Hard to buy a flash cartridge to fit it
* A bit rare
* Buying stuff from Japan is hard/expensive

I have a question about the 60hz. If the main number of games were European exclusives, and European consoles were prepare for working at 50hz, Why is It a pro having a 60hz Master System?

Only for playing Japanese/American games? Or European exclusives were programmed with 60hz in mind?

Thank you!.

A very few were developped for 50hz... only one or two doesn't work in 60Hz at all :)

It’s debatable what the intended speed for many games is. Later European games often have Game Gear versions which you may decide are the intended speed. Certainly for the large number of Japanese developed games, 60Hz seems the intended speed.

Well one issue with the Japanese SMS is FM is enabled on all games and some people may prefer PSG audio.
