String-searching tools?
Post Posted: Wed Apr 01, 2020 3:02 pm
Pardon for the newb question, but are there tools for scanning ROMs for strings? I'm looking for something more than just a grep, but looking for deltas indicative of a string (e.g., if I'm searching for "SMS", find a sequence of bytes that has a delta of (S - M == -8) followed by (M - S == +8).

I know it's easy enough to just write a python script to search for these, but I didn't know if there are tools that can employ this--or other heuristics--for ID'ing strings.
