Sports pad mini
Post Posted: Wed Dec 18, 2019 1:46 am
I recently found these neat little mini tracker ball boards. I decided to have a crack at making a mini sports pad using one. With minimal modification if fits nicely into a standard d-pad controller housing. Got a prototype version going last night but still need to spend a bit of time working on the software. Im hoping to have sports pad (x & y), paddle controller (x only) and d-pad emulation modes working. I will try to support both the JP and export versions of the paddle and sports pads, obviously the modes will be switchable too.

The blank yellow board in the pictures was just a test thing to check the over all fit of the board. I mucked up the programming port pin out so had to hack and mod that for now but so far so good otherwise.

Apparently ive reached my upload quota of 25MB?? so not able to add pictures but here is a google album link to the pictures.

I wonder if you could fit in Mega Mouse/Sega Mouse mode so I can use it with Busytown.

This looks awesome! Does anyone know if the JP Sports Pad is wired differently from the Export one?

The way the JP sports pad works is a little different to the export version. I got one off ebay as "faulty" and did a thread on it here.
