Hi,Does it possible to port tandy version of Thexder to sms?not sure if tandy 1000's sound chip are similar to sms's sound chip...
Yes, as you can see, both Tandy and the SMS use the Texas Instruments SN76489. Seeing that both systems use different or same CPU chips, I think you might want to convert the MSX version because both of those use the same CPU, but use different sound chips, they might sound similar, but they are different in timing and crash waves.
The Tandy 1000 uses the 8080 as CPU. I'm not sure if this works, because even at maximum speed the 8080 is about 0.6 Mhz slower than the Z80. So there will be delays in any case. But as there is a MSX1-Version I agree with Stokes to better use this one for conversion.

I also saw that Tiny Yarou was able to do some conversion, you can watch it here.

No it doesn't, it uses an 8088, which is a completely different beast. That's the only way they could make it IBM PC compatible. It's a 16-bit CPU.

To save others the hassle, I had a quick check; Thexder has already been fan-ported to the ColecoVision but it relies on the 'Super Game Module' expansion, which adds an AY. So it doesn't port the audio to the SN.
That being said, I've played Thexder on about a thousand platforms and it's not really a game that rests heavily on its soundtrack — understandably when you consider that it's also available for computers like the Apple II where continuous audio requires continuous CPU work. On that machine Thexder has a title-screen tune and some minor in-game beeps only.
Hi, I'm back here on this forum to bring you this test demo. Yes, it actually works. It's not a port from Tandy to the SMS, but it is from porting it from the MSX. Also, it's not using the original BIOS or some other kind of MSX BIOS, like C-BIOS, it's literally the MSX game, but with some of the codes now gathered.
