Just had a thought while looking over SMSReader schematics... Now that we know about 315-5365's different CE# modes (and 315-5235 at a pinch), how about an SRAM cartridge that uses the two or three chip selects on the mapper directly? With that you could cut out the 4001 and using the standard battery backup diode circuit you could cut out the Harris chip. With the 2 or 3 SRAMs piggy-backed, the whole lot could be done on a standard 32 pin cartridge (perhaps choosing one with an 8K SRAM already present) with comparitively little hacking.

Would anyone build this? =)
