AGAIN me homemade controller

i'm still working on my homemade controller, i'm wondering since i have a Mega drive too, how that pin out works ?
sice i can just add another button and use it on both consoles :S
SMS Controller port (looking into the socket on the console):
1 2 3 4 5
6 7 8 9
1: Up
2: Down
3: Left
4: Right
5: +5 volts
6: Button 1
7: TH - not connected in a normal controller
8: Ground
9: Button 2
Ignore the TH line - it's not used by a normal controller (it is used by the Light Phaser, Paddle and Handle controllers).
i wanna know the mega drive stuff.
