Using Action Replay/hacking in MEKA

I was wondering how I can use cheats/Action Replay with the emulator, it doesn't have a simple "enter cheat code here:" option. I want to use Action Replay to make sprite ripping a lot easier. Not to mention, I want to know how to dig for unused content like sprites or sound.
If anybody can provide me details, that would be helpful.
Thanks!

You can convert them to entries in meka.pat, or you can use the RAM editor to edit the values directly. The cheat finder can also help you find the locations of interesting variables.

(I know this is late)
The game in question is Bart Vs. the Space Mutants, how exactly can I write a cheat code for it by finding out what code the rom is?

The checksum is in meka.nam. Make a RAM patch with the middle 4 letters of the code as the address and the last 2 as the value.
