How is everybody doing with the preparations?

I have made surprisingly good progress lately, so my little game has now reached a state where I could already enter it into the competition. I'll try to use the remaining days to add a little more polish, though.

Haha - I'm postponing posting my entry while desperately trying to upgrade my music assets. If psglib in my dev setup was a sentient beast, it would be a very sad beast, as it is currently being forced into extended sessions of playing back my humble emerging chip tune compositions.

I haven't been checking the mailbox much, I added a missing music entry now. I'm sure everyone will release something at the last minute :)

I think I'm actually done now. Found a nasty glitch at the very last minute, but after fixing it, all seems to be fine now.

I'm currently pondering if I should try creating some box art or if I should leave that for the time after the competition. After all, 20% more awesomeness is definitely something worth aiming for.

It's worth noting that you can send as many updates as you like before the competition, and we'll post the latest on the 27th. Usually there's some updates afterwards too, and that's also acceptable.

Sad to say that I'm unlikely to have a game finished for the compo now, work commitments and generally not having enough up and go (depression sucks). I haven't given up on it though so expect to see it sometime in the next few months.

Really looking forward to seeing the other entries however!

Don't you feel like sharing some unfinished work? I'll go that way, as there's no chance on earth I can complete the game I'm currently coding in the next few days, but I want to be in the b-day party :)

I mean, throw your work at us the way it is, and don't worry too much :)

It's worth noting that we love to see the entries updated while we're in the voting phase, just you'll probably won't get a vote upgrade from those who already voted your entry.

That's why we are trying to get something (somehow) finished and polished out of the door and start building new stuff afterwards. If we can reach another milestone, we will update our entry.

Thanks for the thought but I'm a bit funny like that. Would prefer to have it at release quality or near. If I have something worth showing off by compo deadline you'll get it though.

If I remember last year, to upgrade a vote you have to delete your vote and vote again, right ? A bit cumbersome and vote-unencouraging.

We had some last min dramas so will hand in a version for comp, another final version at a later date. Its all there for most part but syncing could use use some love.

First time programming for z-80, and first for SMS hardware. At this point totally burnt out on my project, want to check out everyone else's work, complete or otherwise!

Fixed... I'll have a once-over of the entry posts as they go live, not least to synchronise the end times.

11 now, the record was 15 last year. Not much of race in the music competition yet, and no hacks yet...

Maybe you can still finish it during the competition. I heard you can submit something while the competition is running.

I'll post stuff this evening (UTC). Enter something now and you can update it later, but we can't take late entries past today. Or maybe tomorrow ☺

My drummer has failed me. He didn't turned in his tracks in time, and i take way too long to program decent drums.

We will finish it eventually and post it on the music forum. :)

I'm in for the music competition! Hope there will be a few more. I've participated a few times before and I also have my dark green SMS tee. I love it and have worn it many times!

Entries are accepted at any time where you can plausibly argue it is still SMS Power! Day, in any timezone or science fiction scenario you can make us believe. Submit something! Music with missing drums could have it added later, I guess? Updates during voting are welcome, although as you would expect you may suffer a bit.

I just found out there's a formal definition of AoE (anywhere on earth) so I guess that as long that it's SMSPower! Day AoE we really can't complain ;)

edit: AoE online clock. There's still plenty of time left :D
