Tail's Adventure v1.1

- Left column blank active, no more lightening on the left of the screen.

I just asked vingazole about moving the ring counter, the logo of the choose weapon and the bar when you fly (the one lightening in the corner when not flying). So if it's possible maybe a v1.2 for soon ;)

Moving status display sprites is always possible, it just requires a bit of work.

Lost World, The Jurassic Park WIP v0.1

Start on down controller 2. Some garbage screen, still play fine.

Like it's a 1Mo game, if someone can test it on real hardware with a everdrive, it's cool ;)

This topic if full of great conversions but, man, I sometimes have to come back to it just to see what the button combination for starting a game is...

Anyway, keep up the good work! It's pretty cool being able to play these on a real Mega Drive.

They all start by either hitting the 1 or 2 buttons on the first controller, or the down arrow on the second controller. Also, all are referenced in the hacks section:

It's a real shame not to sort out the Start button mapping before releasing. I'll write you a tutorial if you promise to follow it!

All seem to work on real hardware.

I updated all the patches except Tails' Adventures. How should I handle credit when two people work on the same patch? Should I just put credit for each version?

If it's a collaborative effort then put both names on. If not, distinguish them somehow (e.g. with names in the filenames) and make the better one the "main page" version (e.g. version 1.0-Revo).

What Revo needs is a series of hexadecimal values, as he uses an hex editor ;)

I still can't get Aah! Harimanada working. Same error on the Sega screen as before.

The rest of conversions/revisions work fine. I especially like the new The Lost World conversion, as that's a good yet little known game.

Arena - Maze of Death WIP v0.1

-Start on down controller #2
-Start not working in-game :/
-Lot of garbage screen

You can do a ''life hack'' by putting black tape on your (old) tv to hide the garbage screen. If you play in the dark it's will be pretty ok ;)

Hi, little enhancement to the great conversion job already done by Chris Covell on GG Aleste 2/Power Strike 2 :

- displays the title "GG Aleste II" , whether the console is japanese or not.

- uses BUTTON 1 for the menus, letting the pause in-game mapped to the Master System PAUSE button.

Only tested on my 50 Hz/PAL SMS 1 with my Everdrive...

Thanks Vingazole! I just tested both on a Japanese SMS (MK-2000) and a US Genesis and both worked perfect.

I added Alesete to the pages and bumped the revision from 1.0 - to 1.5.

The current revision of Triple Trouble is 0.4. Should I make this 1.0? It seems pretty complete. Also, would you like me to put anything in the changelog?

I couldn't help you much with the version number, maybe you should ask Glitch and nextvolume what they think about it ?

All I can say is that I've made and shared this ROM (~early 2012; I had to search in my old e-mails to find it back^^) to fix a graphical glitch (color corruption in the underwater portions of the game) which occured only on the real SMS hardware...

I just added it as one revision up: v0.5. If anyone wants me to change it, just let me know. All versions are available in the hacks section of this site.

Thanks again for the awesome work! I hate to ask this after all everyone's already contributed...but has there been any progress on Mega Man?

I'm wondering what would be the ideal combination of buttons to replace the GG START button for Megaman, during the game ?

My opinion would be better .... the Pause button on the master system.
It is very easy to mod the pause control buttons 6 mega drive to the master system.

Clear thinking about who would play the game directly from the master system.

Well it's just a opnion, what you get will be excellent

OMG, please stop playing Master System game (or GG conversions) on Megadrive or with a Megadrive pad, you're not doing it right.

8bit games are for 8bit system and 16bit games are for 16bit system.

What do you want next? Playing SMS games on SNES?

I'm very sorry Revo, but I completely disagree with you. Some people don't have the space for both an SMS and a Genesis, or don't want to spend the money on both systems (or buying two ROM carts, when the Everdrive MD plays games from both systems). Using the Genesis isn't emulation, it's the same as playing on the SMS; It's not at all like wanting to play SMS on SNES. I test all your conversions on both an SMS and a Genesis and all work the same on both.

Also, I have big hands and prefer to use the Genesis controller, even when I'm using my SMS. These things are just a preference and different people will prefer different solutions.

Yes, but some games won't work properly with the Genesis controller. There are patches for each one that make them compatible on both SMS & Genesis. I attached a zip with all of them. I may have missed a few though...

I should probably add these to my site...I just have to find out who created them, so I can give credit. I think someone on the Krikzz forums posted these, but I'm not 100% sure.

You don't have to be sorry, everyone have different opinion of course. In 2014 the cost of a SMS adaptator for MD is the same price as a SMS. For the question of space yes why not, I never had this problem even if I always leave in little space. Of course it's better than emulation but for me it's bad. Like people playing on SMS II, people playing in 50Hz, people playing on flat screen, people not using RGB...

A modification to use the joystick on the mega drive with sms pause.
Clear that the control will crash the mega drive

Sorry, do not want to change topic ... but it is just to help people use the easiest hacks on the master system with his or cartmods everdrive

Modded or Mega Drive pads aside, you should probably do a similar button combination to the one used in The GG Shinobi.

Plus, there's already a game known as Power Strike II on the Master System, so this way the GG Aleste II conversion disambiguates better from the SMS Power Strike II.

Hello everybody !

A new patch to play The GG Shinobi with the MegaDrive/Genesis joypad [START] button is attached to this message.

It works on my Master System with a 3-button MD joypad, I'd like to know if it works on a MegaDrive and/or with a 6-button MD joypad. (it shouldn't work on a Mark III/Japanese Master System according to what I've read about port $3F in the Development Section).

I can confirm that this works with both a 3-button and 6-button controller. I tested on a Japanese MK-2000 SMS and a NTSC Genesis, both via Everdrives.

Great work! I'll add this as a choice for people who'd prefer the Genesis controller over the SMS.

Defenders of Oasis is working on real hardware by deleting GG ports and fixing the checksum.

The problem now is about the 8ko extra memory for saving. Impossible to run a new game, just continue and then you have no save so you can't play at all.

For some people it's should be easy to found how to hack that ;)

Tested and working on real hardware, added to the hacks sections.

Revo, can you explain what you mean about the save issues? I only tested it for a few minutes, but it seemed to work fine.

Maxim, in that topic, there was a link to a patch you were working on for Lucky Dime Caper. Have you gotten farther than level 1? Should we post the patch anyway?
