This is great! GG Sonic 2 has some different tunes (it even has a good ending tune), as well as layout and object differences. I personally don't like to play my Game Gear because of the small and dark LCD, playing Sonic 2 on the SMS will be a cool way to play this game.

I know that BcnAbel76 is working on a port of Ms. Pac-Man, but this is my version for those who want to test it out. Also, this uses the header to run the game on the Japanese SMS. I also don't know how they did the controls, whatever they did to manage the controls, they didn't even make an output for $DC or $00.

Break Thru! v0.9 GG2SMS

Here a quick attempt of a conversion for this "new" prototype, I'm a bit rusty so I may have forgotten some GG ports. Also don't pause the game (with down controller 2) or the colors will be bad. No start needed to start a game. I may change the background color for black (instead on dark green).

So, I checked the game out, it's good. I tried to redo your conversion without the color mess up. But of course, when I converted Start to 1, You get messed up colors that looks like you're running an SMS game on a Game Gear.

Not easy to explain:

- You need to locate GG Ports 2 to 5, get "IN" instructions and reverse logical to go accessing 2 player link mode (Not easy)

- Locate adress storing 2 player link data

- Create a new routine reading Player 2 Controller

- Copy 2 Player Controller data to 2 Player link data

GG PORTS $01, $02, $03, $04 and $05

When you hacked rom and acces to 2 link mode, you need to change input values with value you need to bypass

EXAMPLE:

IN a, PORT $05
JP z, LABEL $2000

HACKED; Working in GG but not in SMS

IN a, PORT $05
JP nz, LABEL $2000

Suppose you need $00 value, then

LD a, $00
JP nz, LABEL $2000

(Remember reading/writting ports $01-$05 crash system in SMS mode)

This is based on the assumption that the link port is used to replicate controller inputs, which is likely but not guaranteed for various games.

I'd say based on my recent experiments pretty much not at all. Usually, the communication port is used to signal game state (difficulty, map, score, player position, etc).

They are also very verbose in 3rd party games, sending values many hundreds of times a second.

Essentially any 2 player logic is going to have to be rewritten from scratch.

Maxim & djbass, I tried to explain/teach a fast view/hacking.

Every game is a new world, try to hack games without any info about game internally works is not easy, and teach it simple possible, then you explore all your imagination into rom/ram/vram...

Dracula's Castle v0.8 GG2SMS

- Now working on everdrive.
- ROM size is now 64KB.
- Better palette at map screen (after level 4).

About Bust v1.1, there is a big glitch in VS Play and 1P vs 2P:

when you make a combo (you have to destroy more than 3 bubbles at the same time), a square (or more) appear in the middle of the opponent side, then when the opponent will threw a bubble he will get penalty bubbles.
Player 1 get penalty bubbles. Player 2 don't get them, squares are just piling in the middle...

And hide most significant garbage ingame changing $11F7 with "$CD $00 $7E"

I have a small issue to report that is not related to your lates update: In 1P Mode, in the down/right screen where the bubble garbage was, there is an empty black rectangle that appears whenever a stage is cleared (and disappears when a new stage is loaded).
