Because latest MEKA disable support for Sega mapper (write at 0xFFFF) by default for 32 KB ROM which seemed like a sensible thing to do (this ROM is the first <=32 KB ROM AFAIK which use mapper).

If you add this anywhere in meka.nam it would work:

So that's why it wasn't working... I should fix that later.

This looks lovely but that's about it.
Rocking BG theme and some SFX and a scorebar would make it rock though ^^

Please finish this game!

Add some collision detection and sound effects. This could be a great score attack shooter.

Why not add some power-ups and objects you are not allowed to hit to add more depth in the game play.

Oh god, i love Turmoil.
It is such an underrated game, imho.

Which is why i love this entry, i always care for more Turmoil in life. Hm, ok, perhaps not the best sentence ever written, hehe.

But, go go go and finish this entry, it will be epic.

When I was small, used to play Turmoil a lot. It was the kind of game that made your wrists hurt, and you'd still come for more.

Since it has so much positive feedback, I think I'll finish this entry as soon as I get some extra free time. I'll be glad to add some Turmoil to everyone's lives! :)

I'm not sure where the game is here, apart from testing how well you can strafe in the two directions. It's also very twitchy. Maybe if it was more complete it'd convince me more.

Yeah, it's very much unfinished, at this stage.
That was the kind of gameplay I was trying to replicate:
