Can you make them at 1:1 pixel size (these seem zoomed in) and in PNG format (without going through any JPG stages)? That way, the quality will be maximised.

The maps you've posted seem like they were made with Kega, which applies a lot of filtering. You can change the screenshot stage to "raw" (in Options -> Extra) to make screenshots be before filtering, although they still have large borders.

I just made a quick map of Kombat Tomb for comparison. Are there only three backgrounds in the game, even if you play through in 1-player?

Ok, I'll try to remake them. The game has some big borders, it's ok to remove them?

It's ok to use Kega Fusion, or there is a better emulator for this kind of stuff? Need some tips ^^

There are only 3 arenas, The Pit II and Kombat Tomb are regular arenas (you even fight Kintaro and Shao Kahn in Kombat Tomb), and Goro's Lair is only playable against the secret characters, Jade and Smoke.

Kega is OK, but it is a menace for screenshots :) We prefer to have our screenshots (and maps) at 1:1 resolution, lossless, and with full-intensity white (some emulators have darker colours).

For this game, yes, I think it is valid to remove the borders. They are not really part of the level.

I think I got it this time :p

I used MEKA and PNG images, if you approve this one, I'm going to remake the others.

All added now, thank you very much for your contribution :)

I didn't realise until just now that Goro's Lair is a cheap palette swap of Kombat Tomb. With all the ROM space used by fighters, they could have spared a bit more for the backdrops...
