Indeed the box art said 1991 but that's for the "PGA TOUR Golf" licence. FYI all those erroneous dates came from a source (generally box art or title screen) so it's interesting to be also considerate of this. I agree the magazines are a better source. |

This was a tough one as there weren't many video game magazines around back then but I couldnt find one that reviewed it or even mentioned it in 1988. Scramble spirits sms year changed from 1988 to 1990
At first glance it would seem this was released in 1989 as the back cover has 1989 copy right and this U.S magazine claims it will be released in dec of 1989 https://segaretro.org/index.php?title=File:EGM_US_004.pdf&page=59 But that was clearly cancelled. Sources that lead to a 1990 release in europe are: https://segaretro.org/index.php?title=File:TGM_UK_32.pdf&page=51 https://segaretro.org/index.php?title=File:PlayerOne_FR_001.pdf&page=58 https://segaretro.org/index.php?title=File:CVG_UK_100.pdf&page=56 Also to note is that all other ports were released in 1990 |

legend of illusion sms year changed from 1994 to 1998
Ok, I am up for debate on this one but here is my findings. Segaretro has this listed as a release date of 12.1998 which they have no proof of on their site but it is quite specific. So I checked Mobygames and they have the same date ,which they probably cut and pasted from segaretro, but they did have one review listed from a brazillian magazine which is here on page 40.http://retroscans.org/scans/revistas/super_game_power/sgp_58.pdf This magazine is from Jan 1999 so it is entirely possible that the game came out in dec of 1998 and didnt get reviewed until jan of 1999. Also adding weight to this is that Sítio do Picapau Amarelo is also reviewed on this page and it was released in 1998. |

http://www.smspower.org/Scans/TVTunerAdaptor-Hardware-Manual-EU
Manual that I submitted a while ago marked as European region, but the manual I sourced it from was from the Australian release. I feel more accurately this is an International release item or possibly Japan (it does say printed in Japan). |

I probably guessed from the multilingual manual. I guess it's probably PAL specific? That would make Europe the primary target for it.

Hi guys,
i have a problem posting new comments with my Android smartphone. Always this error: "Invalid Session. Please resubmit the form." |
|

![]() |
You get this when your IP address changes. It's possible your mobile internet connection is going via some proxy pools, or may change as you connect to different towers - so try standing still (!) or maybe it's just impossible to solve until we update our forum software. If you are using WiFi then it should work more sensibly.
If you go to a site like whatismyip.com what do you see when you refresh? |

I use WIFI, same public IP. Also tried with 4G network. Used browser chrome for Android. |

It also happens to me always when using my phone...
![]() ![]() |

That's strange - I use the site mostly via mobile devices and I only get the session thing when changing between IPs. I may see if I can enumerate what else might be causing it.

Tile format error

Hi
On this page: maxim/HowToProgram/Tilemap There is an error for the tile data format: You can read: bit9 horrizontal flip bit10 vertical flip bit11 Palette bit12 Priority bit13 unused bit14 unused bit15 unused this should be: bit9 Tile number bit10 horrizontal flip bit11 vertical flip bit12 Palette bit13 Priority bit14 unused bit15 unused bit16 unused |

Only if you label the bits as 1-16, but I'm labelling them as 0-15 instead. This means that bit n is the same as 1 << n.

This is a bug, but I'll report it here anyway:
For some reason, there was no way I could log in the forums with Firefox 68.0.2 (newest). After about 15 tries and resetting the password, I unchecked the "keep me logged in" box, and bam! no problems. Just mentioning it in case more people start having the same problem. |

Royal Stone title in Japanese
![]() |
Hi,
Found some mistaken Japanese in the Games section. The subtitle for Royal Stone is mispelled as ~Hikarishi Toki no Tobira~ when it should be ~Hirakareshi Toki no Tobira~ Both "Neko daisuki" and "Pet club Inu daisuki" are mispelled as ねこ大好き! and ペット倶楽部 いぬ大好き! instead of the correct ねこ大すき! and ペット倶楽部 いぬ大すき! This is actually very tricky, since normally in Japanese you indeed write "大好き", but they probably wanted to appeal to younger kids and go with a cutesy image, so the game titles were rendered as "大すき". Thank you Maxim (or the admin who changes it :) |

I'm not an administrator, but once I double checked and confirmed that you are actually right, I took the liberty to perform the suggested changes myself.

![]() |
Thank you Jair & Tom, this looks correct indeed.
It was my mistake to input 大好き in spit of the visible kana in the title. What's surprising if how they use 倶楽部 for Kurabu (Club) it's an existing ateji afaik but not really something you'd expect kids would read. |
|

![]() |
No big deal, the more Japanese you know the easier it is to miss the difference. If I hadn't specifically tried to buy the game a couple of months ago, I probably wouldn't have noticed either. If you look for ねこ大すき on Amazon.co.jp you won't find it. But if you search for 大好きyou'll see it's actually there, just mispelled.
I looked into this. Depending on the spelling, it conveys a different impression: ・クラブ : an informal club, say a school club ・クラブ : a music club/disco (pronunciation is different than other two) ・倶楽部 : a club for grown-ups, as in a social club, a whisky club... However it also gives the impression of an appreciation society, like a pet club. Hence they probably went with this one. We could call SMSpower a Master System 倶楽部, ha. The furigana on top conveying the reading more or less fix the problem. There are other instances of 倶楽部 use that surprised me too. The publisher Kodansha has a Kodomo Club that offers magazines for kids aged roughly 1 to 8. And they spell it こども倶楽部, eschewing 子ども or 子供 for the cutesy and kindergarten-like こども. |
