Forum birthdays

If you go to your profile you should be able to enter your birthday (as month/day, I don't want to see how young you are). If it's your birthday, it will say on the forums index. Enjoy!!!!

Note: it checks if it's your birthday in the timezone of the person viewing the board, so you may get some early/late congratulations.

Great stuff! Problem solved!

EDIT: the BD label should be nearby the left side of the screen, though. I had to forfeit a BD greeting to finally eyecatch it.

And another upgrade: how about showing nearby future ones, like all within one week ahead ? So we happen to know them in advance.

I got used to this feature in orkut, that is helpful for me at least.

I don't want too much clutter. Maybe if I add "upcoming birthdays" it will be noticeable without being too large.

The birthdays are now filtered so only users who have ever posted something show up. Sorry, lurkers! Not so sorry, spammers!

What happens to the "fake" accounts you created to celebrate the release of Master System, Game Gear, et al?

(not that it would be hard to alter the phpbb_users table and give them one fictional post)

Good catch :) I gave them some fake posts too. At worst, I can let them post some real messages :)
