Yes, thanks Nick this is absolutly great. I wish to mention that on the main page. You may want to add a few screenshots to your homepage, I can do that for you if you want.

I like this game. It has this old-school adventure SMS feeling, kinda like Alex Kidd High Tech World. I would suggest not consulting the walkthrough, because it's actually a very easy game once you figure out the basic rules. I completed it without cheating/savestates. I think you'll be satisfied if you complete it fairly and restart everytime you die (at some point you won't die anymore anyway).

Hint: The only thing you need to know to get started is: find the rope.

Thanks for translating this game Nick. Its great to see this game in English. A fun game, though pretty short.

After finishing it I am wondering, is there a use for the bread and milk items?

The walkthrough helpfully states:
Quote
So, if story is done, it enters into the hand simply. However it is unrelated to game clearing.

So that's a no. Can anyone suggest what the buckets are useful for? (I'm sure I'm missing something obvious there.)

I raise this thread back from the dead.

Thanks to Krikzz and his Everdrives, I was able to test this patch on real hardware. I used a Megadrive2 with a Mega Everdrive, the ips patch from smspower and a rom from the Internet from a no-intro set. The startup screen gives me some artefacts, I didn't notice them ingame (though I didn't go very far). Also the green Mark III screen from the original game wasn't displayed either.

Do you think these issues are fixable?

Yes, they look fixable. I think the Mark III logo only displays on a Japanese console. The corruption is probably due to the title screen replacement, hence why in-game nothing is affected. However, we don't have source for the patch which will make it harder to fix.

The Mark III logo could be a Everdrive + Megadrive behaviour. I have the MegaKey function (region passthrough) turned off and a hardware region modded megadrive.

The original rom always shows the Mark III logo regardless of the region.
The patched rom never does, although I think there is a flashing, one frame long green screen before the title screen appears.

Some Japanese editions show a Mark III logo every time (Alex Kidd no Miracle World), others only do when detecting a Japanese console (Aleste (J), which doesn't change it's name on export regions to my great surprise).

I am willing to make a reproduction cartridge out of this patch to play it on the real thing. I cannot say at the moment if this problem occurs because of my current means of playing it, but I don't really want to start if there is a possibility of it happening on a Master System too.

Looks more like the VRAM isn't initialised as it would be with a BIOS.
