[VGM Pack] Solomon no Kagi (FM)
Post Posted: Sat Jul 30, 2011 11:06 pm
Solomon no Kagi (translated as Solomon's Key: The Tears of Princess Lihita) was a port of NES port with some changes, and a Password system. These is the FM version (stripped PSG channels, of course ;->). But the big problem is the album art: the game logo was horrible stretched, because they don't fit. I was heard that Aisystem Tokyo was envolved in development of this game...

http://www.smspower.org/Music/SolomonNoKagi-SMS

And, for Memory Hacks, I was found the track list (FM first):

21: Room Start;
22: Main Theme;
23: Solomon's Room;
24: Pages Room (Solomon's Room in PSG);
25: Princess Room (Solomon's Room in PSG);
26: Hidden Room;
27: Hurry Up!;
28: Game Over;
29: Room Clear;
2A: Got Key;
2B: SFX;
2C: Ending (no loop like PSG version);
2D: Death

Have Fun!

PS: Well, I was looked into Memory Hacks page and GG/SG-1000 games has a lack of them. Well, I gotten some ones (most them from Sega, of course ;->).

Most of GG games plays at DE03 and/or FE03 address (because some times, I look at RAM tab in Meka's Memory Editor, and some times, in Z80 tab).

* Related development with Sanritsu / SIMS.
** Don't know the value for the Title Screen on the game.

I don't know but MSX -> SMS conversions made by Sega or Compile uses a Sound Engine that is much identical at the Sega and SIMS uses, but I think that the way to play the music (is a quite bit complex). For a example, Power Strike (I, II (SMS) & II (GG)), Puyo Puyo 1/2, Parlour Games & R-Type uses a different sound engine.

And finally, some SG-1000 games:

The Black Onyx: C2D0, 81+ (81 is Main Theme, 82-84 is SFX, 85 is Title Screen, 86 is Game Over);
Choplifter: C300, 81+ (81-86 is music);

Girl's Garden: C200, 81+ (81-89 is music);
Star Force: C350, 81+ (81-88 is music);
Star Jacker: C066, 81+ (81-88 is music);
Zaxxon: C1B0, 81+ (81 is Game Start, 82 is Main Theme and 83 is Game Over);
Zoom 909: C2C0, 81+ (81-84 is music).

And last and least, one OMV game:

Space Armor: C3A0, 00 (01 is Main Theme, 02 is Start)

This list can be wrong, so there are no warrantes of right music at right value. So, I was compared this list with my work on Desciclopédia (portuguese brand of Uncyclopedia): I was created more than 430 articles, and I was discovered a lot of sound triggers of games on 8-bit Sega Systems! Now its time to someone creating a page with requested VGM Packs on SMS Power...

The list of Memory Hacks is maintained here:
http://www.smspower.org/Development/MemoryHacks

Your post is awesome! but please try to post those information in a separate topic because it will be difficult to find in a "solomon no kagi" topic. :) thanks

Added. I replaced the cover art as it did not meet our standards (not square, not from the game?).

It's quite likely you can find some location-invariant code that'd act as a signature for searching across ROMs. I remember doing something similar for a thread on the development forum regarding cheat codes on games by the same developer.
