Korean Soccer game (was: gaming gold)
Post Posted: Fri Dec 23, 2005 2:21 pm
well i found one game in Korea that I have not seen anywhere. It is a mastersystem game and I thought it was a Korean version of world cup 94. but looking at the back of the cart i see the game screens shots look different - the charecters are mangaesque in design. Is this game known? Any clues anyone?

Hello Ken,

Scan the box then use ImageShack to host your image.

Once uploaded you will get three links to choose from. Use the second link, simply copy and paste it into the message body text box when you create the reply.

Another method would be to contact Maxim for a scans submission.

Have a good christmas

It is an original Korean creation. Somewhat looks like Run! Dodgeball King (Dallyeora Pigu-Wang), perhaps has been made by the same team.

How does it play?

It does look a bit like that but

the graphics on the box look more "serious" in terms of sprite design. I have not played it as I have no idea how to! It was the only one in the shop and I now wonder if we have stumbled upon a previously unknown game. Any Korean visitors are to translate the box art?

Fascinating that Korean Gam*boy games use the same "megarom" symbol as MSX cartridges.

By the magic of Popjisyo, Wikisource and IME Pad:

Title: 94 슈퍼 월드컵 축구
Romanisation: ? Peo Wol Deu ? Chuk Gu
Translation: 94 Super World Cup Soccer

The romanisation is incomplete because I couldn't find the ? characters in the Wikisource list. Genuine Korean people will undoubtedly correct me on this.

it is world cup 94 game but no way official. I wonder what the game is underneath the title and obvious world cup cash in.

Presumably the same as the '94 Super Soccer' mentioned in gemer's list:
