SC-3000 Library Cartridges
Post Posted: Sun Feb 20, 2005 8:08 pm
Don't think I posted that before. I got 4 weird SC-3000 cartridges:

Apart from being from Australia, I don't know where they come from. They may be custom rental carts. Note how 3 or them (Hang On II, Choplifter, Bombjack) were not released on cartridge format in Japan.

Odd... I wonder if those numbers on the end label match up with anything, such as release order, or Sega part numbers?

I've picked up a few of these locally in New Zealand as well, but I suspect they came from Aussie. I forget what titles, but I think Zippy Race was one of them.

Those remind me a lot of the Famicom Box cartdriges. Perhaps these were used for something similar, an old multigame arcade or an interactive shop display?

More likely part of the game rental system going on in the Sega club here back in the day. Or one of the Aussie clubs more likely.

Our local distributor in the mid to late 80's was into renting SC3000 game carts, sometimes copies of games too :-)
