Enduro Racer Question ?

Fast view/hacking Enduro Racer, I found this SuperJump with double sprite pixel when you arrive upper in jump, I never seen before and I raised game a few years ago.
Does Anybody see it before????? Effect looks nice |

I don’t think I’ve seen it before. Early SMS had a bug that meant it might not work properly - maybe that’s why they (sort of) removed it? It should be easy to change the threshold to add it back.

The hack is in its beginnings but I have already been able to unlock the SuperJump.
It is done now when you accumulate all the improvement items in the store, it was impossible in the original version. I am focusing on the Japanese version as it is the one that actually hosts the full game and not the EU / USA which is stripped. |

I guess this isn't using hardware zoomed sprites, as it would affect every sprite on the screen. It's probably a bigger metasprite, made of more (regular) hardware sprites. see how the bike has same resolution? Zoomed sprites are 'half' resolution since they're integer scaled 2× ... |

Yes sverx, it is not hardware zoomed, it is genuine sprite

To be honest I like the the 3rd one best. But, personally I'd stick with the original Enduro Racer logo in this case, for nostalgia reasons. | |

Progression:
- Modded Main Screen, logo option 1 ;) - Acumulative tune up options: ( When you get to the improvement screen, the arrow lets you select only those that still remaining to buy, When you buy all improvements then unlock "NEW" SUPERJUMP ) You always be able to buy FIX (Repair) option, once per menu - If your damage counter arrives to 99 then you loose all improvements, and need to fix your bike, damage is very important - Edited Mid-Ending and Real-Ending, Stages 1 to 10 = Mid-Ending. Stages 11 to 20 = Real-Ending,( now Real-Ending wait press any key to boot game again ) - When you rise game with MID-Ending and challenge restarts you will get all improvements at stage 11 - Game crashes corrected when use superjump and exceed goal line - More opponents appear, more points for you if they are advanced |

I believe it is for that exact reason.
The Japanese version is the full game, other regions cut half the game and duplicated it, as I understand. |

I have been playing your hack for more than half and hour on real hardware.
![]() I didn't notice anything wrong but my own skill. It was impossible to pass stage 4, it is like a swamp and it is difficult not losing speed jumping. The shop works perfect, if you buy some upgrade, you can't buy it anymore, even you can't select it. ![]() Thank you for your work with this hack. I would like to improve my skills with this game. |

dink: EU/USA Version is not present "SUPERJUMP" sprites, and it is very poor compared with real version (Japanese)
Aranya, game is not easy if you before didn't played it When you start without any improvement, your maximum velocity is 200Km/h, it is needed to upgrade it with ENGINE, then your velocity arrives to 263Km/h When you arrive to a ramp, you need to push "DOWN" and "UP" before jumping and then do not loose any velocity, it is needed to upgrade with SUSPENSION, then you can do it without pressing "DOWN","UP" You need to control you DAMAGE and FIX it all possible, and buy rest improvements to complete "SUPERJUMP" |

BcnAbel76, I had a go earlier (on a model 1 Mega Drive), and here's my report:
I had this game as a kid (the cutdown western version) and liked it, but in more recent years was surprised to find that it had a real fanbase amongst Master System users. To me it was always a simple, fairly easy, throwaway game. Nothing too special but likable. I didn't find the full JPN version too difficult to complete either (once I learned about it as an adult), but it was obviously a more fulfilling experience, with the extra cut scenes and more challenging tracks that were cut from the version I knew. Anyway - I think you've rebalanced the game really well. I didn't think so at first, because it felt easier thanks to the persistent bike enhancements and finding that you end up accruing a lot of credit you can't spend. And once I unlocked the super cool SUPER JUMP and its huge bike sprite mid way through the first loop I truly thought this was going to be another walkover..but I was proved wrong :) The extra cars & bikes in loop 2 are hazardous, and they killed me a lot. And even though credit can only now be spent on fixing bike damage it only ever repairs a little - so I started to find challenge ramping up a fair bit, with the pressure to race / jump well and avoid environmental & vehicular damage increasing every stage..and ultimately I failed to fully finish it, running out of time near the end of the final stage having taken 99+ damage. This is not a complaint, it's great. Your rebalance really did make the complete game feel more whole, and one that requires mastery that the original versions didn't need (for me at least). I thought about whether there might be some other way to utilise the extra credit that basically becomes redundant once the super jump is unlocked, but couldn't come up with anything. The system in place now seems optimal as it promotes an easy quick upgrade path through loop 1 and gently raises challenge through loop 2. You've done a wonderful job here overall. It's like a restoration patch which also gives the difficulty level more dynamic range. Thank you!!! |

I enjoy a lot, superjump looks incredible.
For me just adjust the price to FIX the bike on the second sting (stages 11-20) to 30pts for FIX, if you win the game will be a few money on your pockets. Well done, and thank you for upgrade this game. |
