SF-7000 repair
Post Posted: Mon Jan 06, 2020 3:47 am
I'm in the process of repairing my Sega SF-7000, and I'm looking for a replacement belt for the disk drive.

Does anyone know if I can just use a standard drive belt from an Amstrad CPC interchangeably?

Found this on eBay: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AMSTRAD-CPC-6128-FLOPPY-DISK-DRIVE-BELT-TWIN-PACK-2-... - would this do the job?

Also, if anyone has any info on how to transfer data to and from the SF-7000 and a PC, (if it's even possible) that would be great!

It did the job for me!

Though there is the slight possibility that there are multiple CPC drive types? (I don't know CPC ecosystem very much, but you can also use a CPC drive).

For transfering I think using Kryoflux is currently the most reliable manner. I have a friend working on a better solution (not particularly for SF-7000 but it should work for it). Kryoflux has a weird licence.
