F-15 Strike Eagle assets (GG, unreleased SMS)

Can someone convert them to a modern format like PNG?

Quote
Graphics assets for the Sega Game Gear conversion of Sid Meier’s F-15 Strike Eagle developed by NMS Software, presumably drawn by artist Steve Beverley.

These assets were also used in a port of the Sega Master System planned for release in 1994, but was canned as the publisher saw the console as obsolete. The files can be viewed via Deluxe Paint.

Download the assets here.

Special thanks to MicroProse producer Stuart Whyte for sending us these assets.

I seem to remember Paint Shop Pro 5 could open Deluxe Paint images - I'm sorry I'm on Windows no more so I can't do that myself.

I'll give it a go in 7, from before they started breaking it. I suspect these .ani files might be animations though..?

Well, IrfanView seems happy enough to open them (but only as still images). These seem suspiciously like G*me B*y art in places, and I don't see anything obviously SMS-looking. I did try Deluxe Paint II in DOSBox but it wouldn't load the files; Deluxe Paint Animation used .ANM files, and crashes if I feed it one of these.

Who knows? The original .ANI files contain the "CAMG" IFF chunk, meaning they were probably created on the Amiga.

I used Deluxe Paint on the Amiga to load up the .ANIMs, and this program can also save all the frames as individual images, so that's what I did.

Indeed it seems compatibility in animated files isn't great between Amiga and PC versions. I suspected as much but didn't have much clue how to get the files into an Amiga emulator...

In UAE, you can assign one or more folders on your PC as a virtual hard drive on the Amiga side, so that's the fastest way to get files into the emulated system.
