A little clarification, as someone pointed out that: "Voltage inverter board near the cartridge slot and LED backlight panel taken from a Ni****do DS LCD screen"
Apparently the seller pointed to the buyer than the screen has been modded.

I'm sure you already noticed this if you care, but the IC date codes suggest late-1992 manufacture

Isn't that plastic imprint pointing to December 1993?

You're right! That's pretty odd then — possibly a shell swap back in the day to test the color?

An in-house prototype for evaluation by different market would most probably be a shell swap, so I'm not surprised of that.

To clarify a few things:

This color wasn't used in any retail Game Gear.

I haven't verified but some people are saying that no other GG released in JP/US have a Grey start button. Some Game Gear such as the Smoke Game Gear have Grey d-pad and 1-2 buttons (not sure if it is the same tint of grey) but no start button.

Another feedback:
"Eudald Salarich: I don't know if real or not but... Many years ago I was talking with a guy who worked for Sega distribution in Spain and he told me about a green, orange and a pink prototypes were made but never released"

It is the original power board inside, I'm sure 100%, guys who repaired it said me that it was never opened before to do backlight mod

It's not too bad since essentially the board wasn't a unique thing in the first place. It's the casing that is unique.

They probably even scrapped a board from an old GG or from the factory to prepare this test prototype internally.

Well it's difficult to know for sure now.

@rg010803: Le vendeur c'est le mec qui fait des mods McWill GG de console ''rare'' sur le forum Gamopat?
