Welp. Here's the updated version.
It sounds like you're playing on a Taiwanese loader, but that's how it is.
Plus, it manages to run some games horribly, so I rather suggest go for the one that I already posted up there.

Jast conversion with Erika, Star Trap, Tensidachino Gogo. For these games you need to understand Japanese and having a keyboard.

Hello ,
CBIOS (08/02/2021) with sound work great
Eggerland Working now

Some games doesn't work (rambo , rollerball , dunkshot , payload , sweet acorn , hole in one pro , bouder dash , hustler , manic miner , river raid , speedking , who dares wins ,...)

Is there a solution to make this games works ?

I'm questioning on how do you get the keyboard emulation to work.

I'm checking all of these right now, also, River Raid is manual for SG-1000 and SMS. No controls work, if you find a way to make it work on keyboard, then that's good progress.

OK for RIVER RAID
1) With 2nd joystick you select difficulty (with A or B button)
2) With 1st joystick you start the game (with A or B button)

All the old activision games can be do manually for SG-1000 and SMS ?

Possible to do HERO and BEAMRIDER ?

H.E.R.O. and Beamrider are also manual games. Beamrider for some sort just have VDP glitches.

Homebrew day, with 7 conversions: Any Treasure Day, Bubbo World 1, Chambers of Thyrea, Draconic Throne, Experimental Chess, Pacific, Quartet.

And update for Mini Tower Adventure and Slime Center, they should work better on real hardware.

New conversion: Final Mahjong, Janka, Magical Kid Wiz, Pitfall 2.

Sound is glitchy for Pitfall 2 and on Emulicious you die for no reason on screen 3.

Update of Becky, Japanese is now fixed. Update of Space Trouble, sound is now a bit better.

Hello ,
with this CBIOS (08/02/2021) , i believe 60-70% of MSX1 ROMS games work
it's really better than the asiatic bios (30-40% working games)

When you found the solution for the games like RAMBO i believe we reach 80%

After it will remain exotic roms (it is often conversions from floppy disks) and MEGAROMS

Do you believe CBIOS can launch MEGAROMS on SMS ?

Rambo basically doesn't work on SMS. MEGAROMs on the other hand just glitch, but they work.

I just realized that the MASTER SYSTEM has only 8Ko of RAM
Some MSX games require more than 8Ko of RAM

That's why a game like RAMBO don't work , it need 16Ko of RAM

Can you put a example of MEGAROM with CBIOS ?
(I did not manage to make it work)

Conversion of American Truck, border of the road is glitchy on Emulicious, sound too. Controls are: 1 to go left, 2 to start and accelerate, right to go right.

Great work with CBios! Sorry I haven't been on here for a very long time.

http://map.grauw.nl/articles/keymatrix.php

I see that the keyboard is currently crudely mapped to the 2 player pad. Left presses all keys in bit 0, Right in bit 1, Button 1 in bit 2, Button 2 in bit 3, and Reset Button in bit 4. Some of them spill over into the first couple of rows in bits 5-7. This works fine for many games which only require a certain button to start the game (often 1-4 or space bar), unfortunately it doesn't work well for anything more complicated.

For example, Hydlide uses buttons F1-F5 to adjust the speed of the game. With the current keyboard map it's only possible to select F4 and F5, both of which are overly fast IMO. It's also impossible to use the password system, or pause (STOP) as it shares bit 4 with W (write save to disk).

The numerical pad was optional, many MSX1 computers lack it, no games should require it, so we can ignore rows 9 & 10. Row 11 was only used in the MSX Turbo R, so we can ignore that too.

If mapped to these key combinations it should be possible to access all keys (admittedly often awkwardly). Reset button for row 6 and no button for bit 0 should be reserved to enable use of the shift key to access secondary buttons, but the others could be changed depending on preference.

Incidentally, it would be cool if CBIOS could be modified to save games to Master Everdrive save ram instead of MSX disk, but that's probably a lot of work.

Any chance to add support for the SK-1100 keyboard to the C-BIOS? That way MSX games could be played with a keyboard on the SMS.

Hmmm...
That would be a good idea. I think Revo figured that out already on his own. MEKA might already have that settled.

Another homebrew with Duckstroma https://narwhal.itch.io/duckstroma

To delete garbage screen I had to replace D3 A0 by 00 C9, may be useful for other games.

To start a game press 2 on controller 2, then use controller 1 in-game (1 and directions).

I had forgotten how the IO ports worked. I tried remapping the keys in C-bios, but it only seems to affect what's displayed rather than the actual keys that the game sees as pressed. So I don't think it's possible to remap the keyboard keys in the bios beyond changing the ports. With the pad + reset we're stuck with just using key matrix bits 0-4 (maybe with some minor "ghosting" into bits 5-7. It might be possible to use bits 5 and 7 with a sports pad as it uses the TH lines, but I don't have one to test. A hardware mod might work by redirecting the TH lines to the spare second pad buttons, along with bit 6 through the CONT pin on the card slot, although that would need an extra button/MD pad.

Realistically it would require rom hacking on a game by game basis.

The Mark III (keyboard doesn't work on SMS) has different hardware for the keyboard. The keyboard uses both IO ports (MSX keyboard only uses one), and shares them with the joypads. Unlike on SMS the joypad ports don't match, and there isn't a row 8 which contains the directional controls on MSX keyboard. So it's going to be difficult to control most games without rom hacking. Some games which allow use of other keys for control might work.

Not many people have a Mark III + keyboard, so it's difficult to test to see how if it works on actual hardware.

That's because it needs keyboard emulation.
