Hadn't heard of this game before.

The ad (attached) shows a mockup of a Game Gear box. Someone contacted me saying they might have a prototype for it.

James (dyer60) has been generous enough to let me borrow an EPROM of WildSnake that be bought.

Pretty cool! Anyone planning to do a VGM dump of this game? If not, I might do it, but I need to figure out who worked on this. I would assume Realtime Associates did this conversion, as they also did the GameBoy version which has the same music, but the 'challenges' seem to be omitted from the game, though I see them in the ROM text, but no credits.

The challenge mode is called "king-cobra"

I would guess Realtime only did the sound. Programmer Robert Champagne was doing contract work for BPS.

The Game Boy and Game Gear versions of WildSnake are very similar - comparing the ROMs, they seem to have been built from the same code base.

Other games known to have been built in this way include Spirou (and Tintin in Tibet) and games developed by Spidersoft (Lemmings 2, Cliffhanger and Pinball Dreams).
