Masters of Illusion
The Tree
When he first appears, run up to him as quickly as possible and bump him
on the head. (If you do not immediately run up, you will hit by a flying
leaf. When you land, wait about a half-second and jump. The tree will
turn into a whirlwind and move across the screen. Stay fairly close to him.
Note that while the tree is spinning and moving, you can bounce off the top
of him without getting hurt.)
The Jack-in-the-Box
Bump him on the head four times. Watch out for raining debris.
The Chocolate Bar
Stay in the corners while the chocolate bar is splitting into pieces and
shooting across the screen. (It doesn't matter which corner--the pieces
never reach the edges.) When pieces of chocolate start falling from the
ceiling, you may need to run across the screen to avoid being hit. When the
chocolate bar is about to punch the wall, run out to the middle of the screen,
pick up the piece of chocolate that remains on the floor, and throw it at
the chocolate bar's face.
The Book
When the book throws out a letter, wait until the letter gets low enough on
the screen, the run, jump and do a bounce attack on top of the letter.
This will cause you to bounce off the letter and hit the book from above.
The Grandfather Clock
The clock face will throw out two cogs. As long as you do not kill them,
the clock will not throw out anymore. This way, you will not have to dodge
enemies in the air. Also, you will always know where the two on the ground
are, instead of having to guess when the clock will throw out another cog.
Keep jumping over the cogs. After a few seconds, the clock face will fly
lower than normal. Jump above him, and then bump-attack.
The Dragon
The dragon fires off his attacks in rapid succession. You will need to get
a feel for how much time you have between attacks. This way, you can move
underneath the dragon right before he shoots, causing him to aim downward.
You can then move in front, jump onto the platform, and throw the barrel
at his head before he shoots out more fireballs. There is only a small
interval of time during which it is safe to attack the dragon, so if you
make a mistake, do not rush to get in your attack. Be patient and wait
for the next opportunity.
Mizrabel
You will need to throw the lantern at Mizrabel. This will cause the room
to go dark, but memorizing the room's layout should not be difficult. As
with the dragon, do not be hasty. Concentrate on dodging the flying circles
and when you have a clear shot, jump and throw the lantern.
A Shortcut
Going left through the wall here will allow you to bypass some tricky areas,
however, you will also miss a treasure chest containing Mouse Ears.
Hidden Treasure Chests
Make hidden treasure chests appear by getting beneath them, jumping, and
hitting button 2.

Tips on getting through the Castle
- You will come to a point where there is a large hole in the floor with
three ghosts flying above it. Get a running start, jump, and bump-attack
the first ghost. Continue holding the attack button, as this will cause you
to bounce farther. You should be able to reach the floor on the other side
by hitting only the first ghost.
- There is a second area with a hole in the floor and ghosts flying above it.
For this one, get a running start, jump over the first ghost and bump-attack
the second one. As before, keep holding down the attack button for the longer
bounce. Aim yourself for the third ghost. Bouncing off the third ghost should
get you safely to the other side.
- When you reach this screen, you should continue climbing up past the second
ghost. Stop here and wait for the top ghost to start moving back toward
the left side of the screen. Once it is out of the way, continue toward the
top. The treasure chest contains a small piece of cake. Most likely you
find it more trouble than it is worth.
- When you reach the end, go in the middle door. The other two will send
you back to the beginning of the area. Once inside, break the blocks that
are second and third from the left.
